"Telegraph-Forum [Bucyrus, Ohio], 7 April 1916," p. 7: "Mrs Catherine Traxler, mother of ex-Mayor J. N. Traxler of Upper Sandusky, passed into the sleep of death at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carr, one-half mile west of Nevada, Monday evening at 8:10 o'clock, says the Wyandot Chief. Death was due to grip and a general breakdown she having been ill since in January. Catherine Conkle was born In Columbiana county Ohio, July 18, 1828 and was in her 84th year at the time of death. On March 25, 1846 she was united in marriage with Peter Traxler who has been deceased for many years. Eleven children were born to this union, of which eight survive the loss of a lovjng mother: D. C. Traxler, Ft. Wayne; Mrs. Louis Larick, north of Nevada; Mrs Frank Carr, west of Nevada; Lesley F. Traxler, Nevada; J. N. Traxler, Upper Sandusky; N. C. Traxler, Tymochtee towmship; Mrs. C. J. Troup, Pitt township and Jacob Traxler, Nashville, Mich. Mrs Traxler was an adherent to the Presbyterian faith and was held in high esteem by all who knew her The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Carr home with burial in Nevada cemetery."

[33164] "Surnames of Fulton County Ohio and Before." Mark Lozer, on RootsWeb/Ancestry.com in 2012 offers: "He came with his family to Fulton Co., in 1865. Will was originally a plasterer by trade, but became a mail carrier of Delta, Ohio, retiring in 1907 because of ill health. His daughter states that she remembered the Doctor 'bleeding' him and throwing the blood away. He was much overweight and today would probably have been diagnosed as a diabetic. Diabetes was in the maternal side of his family and was inherited by his daughter. The farm was sold when Mary, the daughter, was about 9 years old and they moved to Eaton Co., Michigan. Civil War veteran - was 14 years old at the time of enlistment, but said he was 18." Find A Grave Memorial 7766467 reports "William enlisted in Company B, 49th Ohio Infantry, as a Private on 22 February 1864 and mustered out on June 17, 1864." William and Mary had seven children.
