He was owner of a Baronial Estate in Bavaria, Germany and was engaged in the Manufacturing of Silks at Munich and made an immense fortune in the business. He was a Roman Catholic. He had two sons and one daughter. Elizabeth, Dietrich and Matthias Sitler. They became followers of Martin Lutheran's Religion, something that displeased the father and resulted in the two sons and daughter deciding to Migrate to America and make this country their future home. Baron Von Sitler gave each of his children a liberal sum of money in gold and requested them to do the best they could with it in America as it was the last they ever would get from his Estate. Their grandchildren would get the rest of his Estate. The two sons and daughter sailed from Germany Nov. 2 - 1736. Landed at Philadelphia Pa. Diedrich Sitler located in Berks Co. Pa. Matthias Sitler and his sister located at York, Pa."
