[12626] Julia (nee Rubin) (formerly Gereda) Heichel petitioned for naturalization 11 Oct 1955 in Snohomish Co., WA. Julia's obituary: "Julie was born November 1, 1920 in Quezaltenango, Guatemala, one of two children, she went to be with her Heavenly Father, April 28, 2013. Though her family grieves, we know she is with her Creator and her beloved Byron. She left a pampered life in Guatemala to live in the woods of Camano Island and Stanwood. Her first house was a one room at Heichel's Corner. She taught English at University of Oregon while Byron was a POW in WWII. Later after the children were grown, she worked at the Josephine Sunset Home and eventually owned and operated the health food store in Arlington until she retired. She is survived by her children, Ramiro Gereda, Susan Christianson, Nadine Heichel, Lynda Peck and Byron Heichel, Jr.; and nine grandchildren, Ramiro Jr., Rodrigo, Gabriella, Ricardo, Chad, Chip, Brett, Sarah and Rachel. . . .- Published in The Herald (Everett) on May 1, 2013."
