He was born on April 25, 1973, in Bangor, the son of Dana Perkins and Helen Perkins-Swan (Moorhead). Alan graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1991. Alan was an all-star pitcher for the Brewer Witches and after graduation, went on to play in the American Legion. Alan had a passion for racing that started in the early '90s at Speedway 95. Alan competed in spectator racing and had a short run with his own street stock until mom didn't approve. Alan joined best friend Andy Saunders in 1994 as a short track mechanic and crew chief. Alan was known to all as the tire guy and helped anyone that needed advice. Alan had 25+ years on the track with countless trips to victory lane with his race family. Alan is predeceased by his father, Dana Perkins; his grandparents Hazen and Martha Perkins; David Moorhead and Mary Knowlton. Alan is survived by his mother Helen Perkins-Swan and husband Jim; sister Anne and partner Jaremy, nephews Kevin, Travis and Christian; uncle Jim and wife Susan Moorhead; aunt Nancy and husband Andy Koziol; his beloved children Gavin and Savannah Perkins; step-children Amber Knowles and husband Maurice, Amanda Barker, Nicholas Wilson and children Arabelle and Anthony, and Justin Wilson; special friends Andy Saunders, Mike Hopkins, Phil Richardson, Chris Ryan and countless others whose lives he touched; and the love of his life Tammy Barker."

[13744] "Shamokin News-Dispatch [Shamokin, PA], 8 July 1957," p. 2: "Mrs. Alma Evangeline (Seiler) Greenman, 67, of 25 West Church Street, expired last evening at 7:55 in Geisinger Memorial Hospital, Danville, where she was a patient during the past 11 days. Death was caused by a complication, terminating an illness of one month's duration. A daughter of the late Daniel G. and Jemima (Weicksel) Seiler, Mrs. Greenman was born in Shamokin July 26, 1889. A resident of Shamokin 58 years, Mrs. Greenman lived in Rhode Island from 1910 to 1918. A graduate of Shamokin High School in 1908, the late local resident was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the Missionary Society of the church. Mrs. Greenman was married in Renovo, October 19, 1910, to Arthur Greenman, who died in 1928. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John Rentzheimer, Bethlehem: Mrs. Helen Malone, Aberdeen, Md., and Mrs. William Whitmore, Shamokin; two brothers, Victor and Walter Seiler, Shamokin; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."
