[38722] The April, 1930 federal census in West Finley Twp., Washington Co., PA lists Rosella, age 5, in the household of her grandparents, James A. and Ada V., along with her parents, Harry S. and Susanna A. Her obituary in the Washington, PA "Observer-Reporter" 22 July 2014: "Rosella H. Nolin, 89, of East Finley, died peacefully Sunday, July 20, 2014 in her home. She was born October 18, 1924, in American Mission Hospital in Tanta, Egypt, to Dr. Harry S. Hutchison and Susannah McKeown Hutchison, who were there serving under United Presbyterian Church. She attended boarding school in Alexandria, Egypt. Mrs. Nolin returned with her family to the United States in 1939, just before World War II began in Europe. She was a 1942 graduate of Claysville High School and a 1946 graduate of Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, with a bachelor's of arts degree in biology. She received her master's degree in nursing from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1949. After a year with Visiting Nurses in Pittsburgh, she went back to Egypt for three years, where she worked with her father, recruiting and training nurses in the same hospital where she was born. She returned to the United States in 1954 and married the Rev. Kenneth E. Nolin. Together, the Nolins returned to Egypt in 1955, where they served with the mission of United Presbyterian Church for 15 years and raised their family. In 1970, after leaving Egypt, they settled in the Mon Valley, where she worked at Brownsville Hospital while her husband served at several churches of the Bethlehem Parish. Mrs. Nolin also worked for several years with Albert Gallatin Hospice before retiring. After retiring, Mrs. Nolin and her husband settled on the family farm in East Finley, where she enjoyed surrounding their home with a lovely garden, enjoyed by family and friends, which she referred to as 'heaven on Earth.' She was an active member and elder in United Presbyterian Church of Claysville, teaching Sunday school, playing bells in the bell choir, participating in the prayer chain and serving in the health ministry, until she became ill in 2008. Surviving are her husband Kenneth E. Nolin of East Finley; sister Ada Margaret Hutchison of East Finley; four children, Susan (Mark) Shopland of Indiana, Sharon (Larrabee Strow) of East Finley, Douglas (Marlene) Nolin of East Finley and Rachel Gillespie of Holly Springs, N.C.; eight grandchildren: Bethany (Colin) Hurley, Benjamin Shopland, Daniel Bald, Eric and Kelsey Nolin and Scott, Erin and Ryan Gillespie; and a great-grandchild, Nolin Chase Hurley.
