Ancestry.com offers: "Quincy Name Meaning - English (of Norman origin): habitational name from any of several places in France deriving their names from the Gallo-Roman personal name Quintus, meaning 'fifth(-born)' + the locative suffix -acum. The earliest bearers of the name in England were from Cuinchy in Pas-de-Calais, but other stocks may be from Quincy-sous-Sénard in Seine-et-Oise or Quincy-Voisins in Seine-et-Marne."

[1488] Alix (or Adèle) may be daughter of Herbert II and another wife, Hildebrante of Neustria. See http://www.ffish.com/family_tree/Descendants_Charlemagne/D1.htm which offers: "Source: 'Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America before 1700' by Frederick Lewis Weis and Walter Lee Sheppard, Jr, ed. by William R. Beall & Kaleen E. Beall (Baltimore, 2008), line 162-18 (Arnold I) has d. Bruges, 960. Line 48-20 (Alix de Vermandois) gives her parents as Liegarde (or Hildebrante) off France and Herbert II, d. 943, Count of Vermandois and Troyes, and show her marrying Arnold I, the Old, in 934." Cf. http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adèle_de_Vermandois.
[54705] Frank is son of Caleb Holyoke (1811-1898) & Abigail Young Parker (1822-1880; m. 3 December 1842 in Brewer, Penobscot Co., ME. "Sun-Journal [Lewiston, Maine]," 3 November 1911, p. 4: "Bangor, Me., Nov. 2 - Cora Holyoke, widow of Frank Holyoke, a rich lumber-man, who died October 3 in Pasadena, Calif., cutting her off with $1,000, has engaged counsel and will contest the will in the California courts. Holyoke made a fortune of half a million dollars or more in timberlands and shipping and lived in an expensive way in a $100,000 residence in Bangor. He had separated from his third wife the widow, who contests the will and she had sued him for divorce, he afterwards filing a cross-libel. In February this year Holyoke went to Pasadena, Calif. where on October 3 he died. His will gives nearly $100,000 to charitable inatitutions in Bangor and makes a few small personal bequests, the residue, amounting to between $300,000 and $400,000, being divided equally between the Misses Madeline and Marjorie, twin daughters of his brother Caleb Holyoke of Bangor, aged 19 years, the nieces to have an annuity of $1,000 each until reaching the age of 27. To each of two sons by a former marriage Holyoke left $100, alleging lack of filial affection on their part. It is claimed by the widow that the will is invalid by reason of a doubt as to jursdiction - that whereas in the will Holyoke gives his domicile as Pasadena, Calif., in his cross-libel filed here a few months ago his domicile is given as Bangor. Under the probate laws of California contestants of wills have one year in which to prove their claims. Holyoke states in his will that at the time of separation from his third wife, the contestant, he effected a settlement with her for the sum of $5,000, but this is denied by the widow and an interesting suit is in prospect. Fellows & Fellows of Bangor are counsel for the widow, and Hon. Oscar A. Fellows, senior member of the firm, will soon leave for California to institute proceedings."
[57417] The unverified file LRSV-4NH in familysearch.org offers: "When George Washington Meloon was born on 25 September 1843, in Cutler, Washington, Maine, United States, his father, Samuel Meloon, was 28 and his mother, Susan Ackley, was 21. He married Mary Maker on 26 November 1868. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter. He died on 30 May 1917, in Cutler, Washington, Maine, United States, at the age of 73."
[34070] Max Rayannic is listed as head of household in the 1940 federal census in Auburn Township, Susquehanna Co., PA: Max (age 59, farmer, b. in Austria), Algo (Olga?)(56, b. in Austria), children (each b. in PA) at home: Steven (24), Walter (17) and Annie (13).
