[54361] Find A Grave memorial 130625138 offers: "Maynard Gilbert Conners, 83, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, who served for 10 years in the Maine House of Representatives, died at a hospital in Bridgeton, Maine, on Monday, September 17, 2001. Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, September 22, 2001, 10 a.m., at Bayview Cemetery, Franklin, Maine." This family is from the Alpheus Winter Tree in Ancestry.com. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 18 September 2001, p. 23: "Franklin - Well-known local political figure Maynard Gilbert Conners, 83, died unexpectedly Monday at a Bridgton hospital after suffering an early morning heart attack at his hotel room. Conners and his wife, Blanche, had been in Bridgton for their granddaughter's wedding. 'Family was awfully important to him,' said Blanche Conners later Monday. 'The things he would have been most proud of were the privilege of serving his country in the military and his family.' Conners served 10 years in the Maine House of Representatives where he was known as 'Conservative Conners' because of his conservative views, said Mrs. Conners. Conners was a Navy veteran who saw action in World War II in both the Pacific and European theaters, and was present for the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima. Locally, Conners was known for being one of six members to start the Maine Snowmqbile Association. He was an active volunteer and member of veterans, guiding and hunting-related organizations. 'He loved this country and everything about it,' said Mrs. Conners. 'He was a wonderful person who was very civic-minded.' In addition to his wife, Conners is survived by his two daughters; Sally Songer and her husband, David, of Orange, and Ruby Joy and her husband, Joe, of East Sullivan. Conners also had two stepsons, Lester Drew of Meriden, and Peter Drew and his wife, Shirley, of Smyrna Mills; and a stepdaughter, Patrice Tarr and her husband, Fred, of Bangor. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday Sept 22, at Bayview Cemetery in Franklin."

Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anund_Jacob_of_Sweden.

[61481] Emmaleen's obituary: "Emmaleen Cyrethea Lynch, 99, was received into the arms of her Lord on Friday, February 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 11, 1926, in Limestone, Maine to Bedford J. Willey and Violet O. (Gallagher) Willey. Emmaleen devoted her life to family, faith, and education. As a lifelong Maine citizen, Emmaleen spent her life enriching her family and community. While attending Limestone High School she played basketball and was a lead majorette. She began her teaching career right out of high school training the next generation in secretarial skills. As a lifelong learner she continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Husson College. With her acquired knowledge, she taught high school in Limestone, Fort Fairfield, Presque Isle, and at Northern Maine Technical College. While working as a high school teacher she coached basketball, advised the school newspaper, and the pom-pon team. She was a strong woman of many talents, capable of anything she set her mind to. Emmaleen was a member of Epsilon Tau Epsilon Sorority, the Daughters of Isabella, the Spud Shufflers, and the Maine Education Association. She was married for 69 years to the love of her life, Paul R. Lynch, and was described as 'the woman behind the man'. She loved summers at the family camp on Portage Lake and was known for her kindness, unwavering support for her family, nurturing spirit, and hugs. Emmaleen was predeceased by her parents, Bedford and Violet Willey, her husband, Paul R. Lynch, as well as sisters Gloria Martin (Donald), Jeanette Seeley (Roger), brother Charles Willey, brother-in-law Mike Cyr, and sister-in-law Gloria Irvine. She is survived by her sisters Eleanor Cyr, Gwendolyn Marshall (Winston), sister-in-law Kathy Willey, brother-in-law Michael Lynch; children Cheryl Cormier (Charlie), Linda Jones (Mel), and Lori Lynch; cherished niece Rebecca Wright; grandchildren Christy Cormier, Craig Cormier, Marie Jones (John Malkow), Andrew Jones, Matthew Grass (Erika), and Brandi Edgecomb (Seth Gilmore); great-grandchildren Terra Malkow, Paige Malkow, Parker Jones, Lilianna Emmaleen Edgecomb, Ryker Golding, Rooghyn Grass, and Renwick Grass. Emmaleen also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
