Haler of the Caswell Surname Organization wrote 12/91: "...we believe with Mr. George Freeman Sanborn, Jr. that she was PROBABLY the daughter of Willliam(2) Caswell and Mercy(3) Lincoln, and the granddaughter of immigrant Thomas(1) Caswell and his wife Mary (whose maiden name we do not know). Mr. George Freeman Sanborn, Jr. is a highly respected genealogist, the Director of Library Operations at the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston... He has been writing a continuing series of articles on the descendants of Thomas(1) Caswell who came to the American Colonies in the early 1630s and settled in Taunton, Massachusetts, and whose descendants intermarried with the descendants of `The Mayflower'...." [The ancestry included here is based on the probability described above.] Elizabeth was still living in Taunton, MA. 31 October 1765.
