Dunham and their children from both of their 1st marriages. Also listed are two young children, Emeline Stevens born 1847 and William C. Stevens born 1849. Since relationships were not listed on the 1850 Census, it was assumed that these children were from a marriage of Ann Staples to a Mr. Stevens. However, it was actually her daughter, Abigail Ann Emerson that was the mother of these children and she has already passed away in 1849. the father of these two children Augustus F. Stevens apparently left the children in the care of his mother-in-law for a time. He remarried and later died in 1862 during the Civil War."
