The 9 April 1930 federal census shows him and his family in Hershey, Derry Twp., Dauphin Co., PA and he owns and manages a gas station. "Lebanon Daily News [Lebanon, Pennsylvania], 5 July 1958," p. 2: "Paul J. Hain, 67, Roosevelt and Cherry, Sts., Palmyra, died this morning at four o'clock at his home. He had been in ill health for the past four years. He was a retired employe of the Hershey Dairy, where he worked for ten years. He formerly conducted his own service station at the east end of Hershey for 26 years prior to working for the dairy A native of Myerstown, he was a son of the late George and Alice (Groh) Hain. His wife, the former Susan Tschopp died in 1949. He was a member of Trinity United Church'of Christ, Palmyra Men's Bible Class and the Hershey Volunteer Fire Company. Surviving are one son, Paul H., Palmyra; two daughters Lydia, wife of Douglass Dotter Jr., Annville, and Margaret, wife of Walter Risser, Palmyra; five grandchildren, one sister, Miss Amy Hain, Lebanon; and one brother, Warren G. A native of Freedom, Pa., he had lived in Crestline most of his life and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a retired welder at the Galion Iron Works. Surviving are his wife, Wilma; three daughters, Mrs. Mitchell Clutter of Crestline, Mrs. Edward Sand of Defiance and Mrs. Dolly Vaughan of Galion; four sisters, Mrs. Raymond Solinger, Mrs. Robert Curren and Mrs. Frances Heidlebaugh, all of Crestline and Mrs. Lloyd Parsel of Bucyrus; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."

She was the wife of Nathaniel 'Nat' Crowley Sr. She was born April 11,1921, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Fernald and Florence Whitman. Esther attended Foxcroft Academy and the University of Maine, Orono. While at Foxcroft Academy she won the Maine State High School Public Speaking Championship, was a New England finalist, and competed in the nationals in California. She was the mother of 10 children and held positions as the director and chef of institutional food services at St. Joseph's School, Lewiston, and the University of Maine at Fort Kent. During World War II she proudly spun wool in a factory in Dover-Foxcroft that made military uniforms. She was the redheaded darling of many of Nat's football teams providing many team dinners. She was an accomplished cook and crafts person, serving as the arts and crafts director for Lewiston Recreation Department. While her husband served in the Maine Legislature, she was known as one of the 'Balcony Beauties' and was active in local Democratic politics. Esther is survived by her husband of 72 years, Nathaniel 'Nat' Crowley Sr.; and eight children and their spouses, Nathaniel Jr. and Julie of Hampden, Michael and Joanne of Stockton Springs, Roger and Louise of East Montpelier, Vt., Christopher and Paulette of Lewiston, Elanna Farnham and Willard of Brewer, Timothy and Mary of Caribou, Patrick and Cindylee of Bangor and Constance Bunker of Amherst, Mass. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Kathy and Gordon Fuller of Hallowell and Anita and Lloyd Christie of California; and by a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Crowley of Hermon."
