"The Perry County Times, 3 May 1962," p. 10: "Milton R. Bower, 83, of Landisburg R. D. died May 1 at his home following a short illness. He was a retired insurance agent and for over 50 years served as secretary of the Farmers' and Mechanics Mutual Insurance Company of Perry County. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church; Adams Lodge 319 F & AM New Bloomfield; a member for over 50 years of Mt. Dempsey Lodge, IOOF, of Landisburg. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gladys L. Bower; a step-daughter, Mrs. Barbara Neff, Ickesburg R. D.; a daughter, Miss Gloria M., at home; two sons, Milton R., Jr., and Andrew T., both at home. Services will be held at 2:30 p. m. today, May 3, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, with his pastor, Rev. John M. Aurand, officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery."

[48713] Sterling's obituary: "Hackettstown, N.J. - Sterling E. Haskell, 82, formerly from Northeast Harbor, died July 5, 2013, in Hackettstown, N.J. He was born May 15, 1931, in the Mount Desert Island Hospital, to Dr. G. Merrill and Mildred (VanDerKar) Haskell of Northeast Harbor, where Sterling grew up. Sterling graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel in 1949, and RCA Institute in New York City, in 1952. For many years he worked for Vast, Inc. in Waldoboro as an electronics design engineer. In 1952, he married Dorothy Haynes, also of Northeast Harbor, and last October they celebrated their 60th anniversary. Sterling was a private pilot and an amateur radio operator. He also enjoyed golfing, sailing, water skiing, snow skiing and fishing. In addition to his wife; he is survived by a son, Bruce and his wife, Helen, of Long Valley, N.J.; three grandchildren, Bridget Corby of Long Valley, Cornelius Haskell of Morristown, N.J., and Elizabeth Haskell, also of Long Valley; and a great-grandson, Andrew Corby."
