[54700] Find A Grave memorial 228288941 offers: "David served for 16 months as a private in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Militia. He served under Captain McCobb, Col. Enos, and Captain Olney, and participated in the Seige of Boston, the Battle of Bunker Hill; went to Quebec by the way of the Kennebec River, and the Battle of Princeton--- He received a pension for his service, and is recognized as a Patriot by the DAR - Daughters of the American Revolution. His father, several of his brothers, and his father-in-law were also Revolutionary War Patriots. MARRIAGE: In 1783, David married Melicent How, the daughter of Ichabod and Sarah How. CHILDREN: David and Melicent had ten children. David and family were included in Stackpole's History of Winthrop, and in FOSTER GENEALOGY published in 1899 by F. C. Pierce.

He was a former resident of Shermansdale, a retired employee of Frog, Switch Manufacturing Co., Carlisle, and a member of the Shermansdale Fire Company. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Morrison; and eight sons, Dale, of Carlisle RD 3, Clyde, of Marysville, J. Ray, of Columbia, S.C., Larry, of Enola MR, and Joe, David, Harold and Keith, all of Shermansdale; three daughters, Mrs. Melvin Weller, of Landisburg Rd, Mrs. Leroy Sites Jr., of New Bloomfield, and Mrs. Dale Kemrer, of Landisburg; and two sisters, Mrs. Mable Smith of Carlisle, and Mrs. Barkley, of Landisburg Rd; 31 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home at 101 West Main St., New Bloomfield, with the Rev. Clarence Earnst, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Shermansdale, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Landisburg, RD." James is son of Charles Wesley Robert Morrison (1860-1936) & Minnie Alice Garlin ( 1863-1939, m. 18 February 1880 in Landisburg, Perry Co., PA).

She is survived by three daughters Karen (Leland) Johnson of Winnebago, Illinois, Julie (Michael) Hubbell of Dixon, Illinois, Angie (Jody) Davis of Walnut, Illinois; one son Ronald (Judy) Eckberg of Erie, Illinois; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one brother."
