However, he lived in the west parish of Boxford, and his death was recorded in the Second Congregational Church there. This was the cemetery associated with that church at that time. His death was recorded in the Boxford vital record as 5 Feb 1736/7, dying 'very suddenly.' John Cole was the son of John Cole and Mary Knight of Salem, Mass. He was married in Reading, Mass. 24 Dec 1691 to Mary EATON, b. c. 1668, d. Boxford, MA 7 Oct 1746, aged 78, the daughter of Daniel Eaton and Mary (Ingalls?). He moved from Salem to Reading, where several children were born, then in 1700 to Lynn. In 1721 the family moved to Boxford where he resided in the West Parish. He was a tailor, and appears on tax lists in Boxford from 1721 to 1736, and was surveyor of highways in 1726. The bond of administration for his estate was given to Jonathan Cole, Thomas Peabody, and Thomas Howsy on 4 July 1737. His widow Mary refused administration on 28 July 1737. Inventory was dated 5 Sep 1737."
