Mrs. Brooks was a member of the First Baptist Church of of Cherryfield and a graduate of Cherryfield Academy, class of 1910. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Farnsworth of Beddington, Mrs. Bertha Strout of Cherrylield, Mrs. Esther Bartman of East Haddam, Conn., Mrs Mildred Calhoun of Winn, Mrs. Jessie Torrey and Mrs. Janice MacLean both of Cherryfield; four sons, Ray of Cherryfield, Philip of Lewiston, James, Jr. of Cherrylield and Alvah of Hampden Highlands; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Conners of Milbridge; 29 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her oldest son, Earle ond her youngest son, Kenneth."
