[1748] Boleslaus I is grandson of first Christian Duke of Bohemia, Borivorius I, and his wife St. Ludomilla (d. 920, Countess of Mielnick) - his ancestry is traced through ancient Bohemian nobility to Czocus (Cracus), Duke 670-709, "a noble Croatian". {Ref. "Royal Ancestors of Magna Charta Barons," Carr P. Collins, Jr., Dallas, 1959, p. 43.} Boleslaus I murdered his brother Wenzel ("the Holy", later canonized) in 935) and expanded the boundaries of Bohemia. Boleslaus I reigned as Duke 938-967. He married Bozena_________. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~pmcbride/james/f015.htm offers: "He, being favorable to his mother, sided with her in plotting against his brother, Wenceslas. Together they killed Ludmilla, his paternal grandmother, and Wenceslas. Otto I. led a vast army into Bohemia, laying waste in his anger to a large part of the country. Drahomira was killed and Boseslav was imprisoned, then released to become a vassal king of a subject Bohemia. Boleslav died, a guilty, unloved king, tortured by his own conscience and the contempt of his people."
