An unverified family tree in Ancestry.com in 2018 offers: "When Audrey Virginia Fitzgerald was born on November 27, 1923, in Middlesex, Massachusetts, her father, Daniel, was 20, and her mother, Helen, was 19. . . . . She died on October 7, 2004, in Southington, Connecticut, at the age of 80." "Record-Journal [Meriden, Connecticut]," 9 Octobeer 2004, p. 14: "Southington - Audrey Virginia (FitzGerald) Cumings died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004. She was born in Cambridge, Mass. to Daniel and Helen FitzGerald on Nov. 27, 1923. She was the oldest of four siblings that included Beverly (Gower) Nancy (Van Wart) and William (FitzGerald). Audrey is survived by her sister, Beverly of Andover; she was predeceased by her sister, Nancy, and brother Bill. Audrey attended Newton Central and developed her knack for making dear and lasting friendships. Audrey met Jack Karlin Myers and in April, 1946 they were married. Audrey and Jack had four children, Linda Jean, Stephen Elliott, Richard Lynn and John Perrin. Jack died suddenly of a heart attack in 1962, cutting short their marriage and leaving Audrey a young widow with four children. She met Charles B. Cumings, Jr. in Feb., 1964. They were married for almost 35 years until Chuck died on Jan. 1, 1999. Through the years Audrey lived in towns in the Boston area, outside Philadelphia, Darien, Connecticut and Cape Cod. She had recently moved to Southington to be near her son John and his family. Wherever she lived Audrey's caring ways and joy for living attracted friends and she developed many lasting friendships over the years. She enjoyed bridge, she took up bowling, always had time for conversation, she took coupon clipping and bargain hunting to an art form. She was not the best singer but she lived with a happy song in her heart. In her 'golden years' she found support and comrades in the Red Hat Society and encouragement to live boldly, honestly, always with a smile! Audrey loved her family - her two husbands, her four children, her six grandchildren and her three daughters-in-law, Jean Godsall-Myers, Lee Ann Myers and Moira Myers, whom she welcomed as daughters. Audrey knew tragedy, she survived the death of both her husbands, Jack and Chuck. She also experienced the tragic death of her only daughter, Linda. She embraced with love all her grand-children Rob GodsalI-Myers, Kirstin Myers, Tim Godsall-Myers, Lauren Myers, Jack Myers and Catherine Myers, appreciating each of them as a unique individual with gifts to be developed and dreams to be pursued. In recent years Audrey provided the opportunity for her family to gather and celebrate in Alaska and Barbados. She enjoyed her joint family celebration with Beverly and her family in 2003 and was surprised by a special 80th birthday celebration. Audrey was a woman of great faith that helped her in life especially in her last days. Her courage and humor helped her face decisions and be a comfort and strength to her family. She with Chuck had been faithful and active members of Swift Memorial Methodist Church in Sagamore. She delighted in her work at the Thrift Store there. She was enriched by Bible study, Christian fellowship, prayers and worship. She was particularly inspired by participation in a 'Walk to Emmaus'. She was still searching for a new church home and was embraced by the love and ministry of Pastor Florence Eddins and the congregation of Grace United Methodist Church . . ."
