Ebenezer m. June 9, 1720 Sarah Doane.
"Descendants of William & Mary (Barrett) Dyer of Rhode Island" in RootsWeb in 2015 offers:
As an "adult," Ebenezer Dyer was baptized Feb. 18, 1727-28, in the church at Truro; he was admitted to membership on the same day. On March 4, following, his three children were baptized. Nov. 19, 1756, a committee of three was chosen "to enquire the reason of Ebenezer Dyer absenting h imself from the Lord's table." Violet, "negro servant to Ebenezer Dyer," was baptized, in 1760, with her daughter Nellie, and later, Violet 's son Ezra and daughter Peggy. Ebenezer Dyer lived on the homestead of his father, Doctor Dyer; he also owned land at East Harbor. In 1740, he was appointed by the Proprietors on a committee, with two others, "to vi ew Eastern Harbor beach, and flat ground below Cedar Island, to see if it be needful to fence them to preserve Eastern Harbor meadow from being destroyed by the sands, and to make report to said proprieto rs of what they think proper to be done." He also was on a committee of three, chosen June 6, 1748, by the Proprietors, "to view the highway that goeth the head of ye Long Nook to the back sea ," and to see if Mr. Jonathan Paine and Mr. Samuel Dyer would consent to " turn the road a little higher up on the northerly side of the valley." Ebenezer Dyer was selectman of Truro three years subsequent to 1750. The shifting sands becoming still more troublesome, in 1760, Messrs. Barnabas Paine, Joshua Atki ns, and Ebenezer Dyer were appointed to petition the Great and General Court that the Provincial tax be abated, "on account of great losses sustained by the town in consequence of the blowing of the sand up on the cultivated lands and meadows the winter past." It is not probable that Ebenezer Dyer was in active military service, but he was chosen at the town-meeting held Oct. 14, 1757, "to assist the military officers in drawing the claim List." Jan. 9, 1758, Ebenezer Dyer, Ensign Ambrose Dyer, and others, were a committee "to consider the business inserted in the warrant respecting the soldiers." His will, signed "Ebenezer Dyer," was witnessed by Isaiah Atkins, Solomon Dyer, and Joshua Freeman; it was dated June 2, 1773, and presented Aug. 12, 1777. He gave and bequeathed "to Mercy Dyer my wife agreeable to the Instrument given the Day of our marriage." To his daughter "Sarah Collings," six shillings; to daughter Dorcas Gross, twenty pounds; and to daughter Keturah Kinney, twenty pounds. To "my Son in law Thomas Aray at the age of twenty-one," 26:13:4.To his son Ebenezer Dyer, Jr., he gave all the land he bought of "Humphry Purrington Called purrington homestead Lying at Eastern Harbour In the township of Said truro together with the dwelling house Standing there on where my said son now lives ." To his son "Fulk Dyer," he gave "my Dwelling house wherein I now live and all the lands adjoining thereto formerly Called Doct. Dyers homestead together with all my Buildings and fencing ," also the "Sheep lots that was Called the Atkins's on East harbour in Tr uro." The residue of the estate, both real and personal, was to be divid ed equally between the sons, Ebenezer and Fulke. (This name of Fulk, says Ric h, appears to have been derived from the Fulke, or Foulke, family in Eng land, a family of some prominence. (Descendants of Edward Small)

[48858] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]." 2 May 2009, p. 19: "Belfast - Joshua Treat III, 88, went to be with the Lord April 30, 2009 surrounded by friends and family in Belfast. He was born Nov. 1, 1920 in Winterport, the son of Joshua and Clara Treat. Joshua graduated from Winterport High School and went into business with his father, Joshua Treat II, at the young age of 19. He married the love of his life, Virginia Vannah of East Boothbay, June 19, 1941, at which point they moved to Belfast. Joshua entered the US Navy in 1942 and served his country proudly during World War II. He was stationed as a chief warrant officer on Manus Island in the Admiralty Islands, South Pacific, the largest naval base outside the continental United States at that time. After the war he returned to Belfast to raise his family and to manage and eventually purchase Perry's Tropical Nut House. This became his life's work and passion. Under his entrepreneurial reins Perry's Nut House became a museum, a place where glorious memorable jams, jellies and preserves were made, nuts were roasted and candy was made daily. Excellence and the unusual were its specialties. He treasured all customers including the many distinguished regular patrons such as Eleanor Roosevelt and Pierre Monteux. Perry's was sold in 1974 and Joshua continued on in business developing many other businesses including Searsport Shores Campground and Yankee Clipper Restaurant, which was later known as Jed's Restaurant. He also had many real estate holdings in the area and was helpful in getting many local businesses started and successful. He was a former trustee and active member of First Congregational Church of Belfast for more than 50 years. Always active in his community, he served on the boards of Waldo County General Hospital, SAD 34, Deborah Lincoln Home, Maine Publicity Bureau and Service Corps of Retired Executives. He was county chair of the Republican Party and was a member of Howard Lodge of the Masons, Winterport, and was also an Anah Shriner. He was a man who loved nature, particularly birds, Western cinema and the landscape and culture of Arizona, where he and his wife spent many winter vacations. He was a prolific vegetable gardener and grower of New Guinea impatiens. He loved his family and his friends, and is survived by his wife of 68 years, Virginia; a daughter, Nancy Burnham and her husband, Phillip, of Searsport; his son, Joshua Treat IV and wife, Anne, of Searsport; his brother, William Treat and wife, Vivian, of Stratham, N.H.; and a special sister-in-law, Mary Alice Fairley, of East Boothbay. He has five grandchildren, Deborah Ryan and husband, Jeff, of Searsport, Diana Thompson of Lewiston, Joshua Treat V and wife, Katie, of Waldo, Alexander Treat of Belfast, and Emily Burnham of Bangor. He has seven greatgrandchildren, Zackary, Andrew, Jessie, Isaac, Dawson, Joshua, Hunter and Colby. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Esther Clark; and his daughter, Linda Treat."
