[9590] "The Patriot News [Harrisburg, PA], 4 April 2008" - Harry E. Simonton, Sr., 'Si', 83 years old, of Patio Court, New Bloomfield, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in the Holy Spirit Hospital. Si was born April 16, 1924 in Enola, to Harry D. Simonton and Zora Simonton Arnold. He was a retired automobile salesman and after retiring, he drove school bus for 16 years. Harry was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Elliotsburg; Zembo Shrine and Past President in 1972; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Harrisburg Consistory; Blain Lodge #319, New Bloomfield, since 1966; Royal Arch Chapter, Newport; Millerstown Moose #925; Newport American Legion #177; New Bloomfield Fire Company and Ambulance Club. Si enjoyed golfing. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Virginia (Shreffler) 'Sis' Simonton; son, Harry E. Simonton, Jr. and wife, Jane of New Bloomfield; daughter, Zorann Simonton Johnson and husband, Dave Richland of Washington; half brother, Clayton Martin of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Amy Araucto of Lynnwood, WA, Maggy Simonton of Seattle, WA, and Sarah McKee of Landisburg; great grandchildren, Waverly and Ronan Araucto and Landon McKee. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 6th at 2 p.m. from the Messiah Lutheran Church, Elliotsburg. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Buffalo Cemetery, Ickesburg."
