[11655] "Arthur Ingram's son Henry, was made Peer of Scotland, and given the title of Viscount Irvine, for him and his surviving male heirs, by Charles II, in light of his service to Charles I, who I am sure your aware of was beheaded. Sir Henry Slingsby his father in law was also beheaded for his support of Charles I , and his outspoken opinions. Arthur Ingram's father Arthur Ingram, actually purchased the Temple Newsam from the Duke of Lennox. Previous to that, it was part of the House of Templars, of the Knights Templar, of the Friday the 13th fame. They were both the Sheriff of York during their lifetimes. http://www.leeds.gov.uk/tourinfo/attract/museums/temple.html - the temple Newsam can be found here. http://www.btinternet.com/~whitkirk/history.htm - they were buried here, also baptised here." - Jay Johnston [Johnj609@bellatlantic.net], http://members.bellatlantic.net/~johnj609 - 21 February 1998, [Note: The descendancy of Arthur Ingraham's wife from the granddaughter of Henry Percy, 5th Earl of Northumberland, is in dispute. The above descendancy has not been verified by AEM. The descendancy is published as far as Mary Percy & Francis Slingsby in Collins' Peerage of England.]

"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 14 September 2010: "Bar Harbor and Seal Cove - Percy T. Reed passed away peacefully Sept. 12, 2010, with his family by his side. He was born July 11, 1917, in Seal Cove, son of Edwin and Jessie Tibbetts Reed. Percy worked many years in Northeast Harbor as a gardener and caretaker - this was an occupation and hobby that he loved throughout his entire life. He worked many years for the Edward Brown family. He also worked a number of years for Thomas Gates, who was secretary of defense under the Eisenhower administration. In the last years of his gardening career, Percy proudly worked for Redmond and Jean Finney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brown. Redmond C.S. Finney published a book named 'Summers with Percy' in 2002.
Percy was married for nearly 70 years to his adoring wife, Frances, who passed away peacefully Dec. 25, 2009.
Percy is survived by his only child, Brenda and husband, Charles Bartlett, of Bar Harbor. He was very fond of Charlie. Percy had three grandsons who he was very proud of, Duane Bartlett and wife, Robin, of Trenton, Chris Bartlett and wife, Tracy, of Newport, N.H., and Matt Bartlett and wife, Lori, of Bar Harbor. He was also proud of his 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He had many nieces and nephews including a very special nephew, Frank Reed."
