[48919] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 21 April 2010, p. 13: "Perham - Calvin Wardwell, 86, a lifelong Perham resident, died April 18, 2010 in Mars Hill. He was born Oct. 15, 1923 in Perham, the son of the late Olie and Lillian (Helstrom) Wardwell. Mr. Wardwell was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic at Loring Air Force Base for many years. Calvin was a quiet and humble man but many will remember him as a genius inventor who repaired and invented solutions to many complex mechanical problems as they arose. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt fish and four-wheel. He was solely responsible for the new four-wheeler trail to Salmon Lake. This trail was named after him and dedicated in his honor. Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 66 years Faye (Bowles) Wardwell of Perham; are his childrenl Tonya Wardwell of Brewer, Linda James of Riverview, Fla., Ruth Brown of Palm Bay, Fla., Sam Wardwell of Levant and Scott Wardwell of Presque Isle; two brothers, Erbin Wardwell of Winchester, Va., and Roddie Wardwell of Perham; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews."
[60253] The unverified file LRWL-BB2 in familysearch.org offers: "When Nettie H. Welch was born in 1867, in Maine, United States, her father, Augustus Welch, was 36 and her mother, Hannah B. Merchant, was 35. She married Alvin Perkins Maddocks on 13 March 1886, in Kennebec, Kennebec, Maine, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. She lived in Perkins Township, South Franklin Territory, Franklin, Maine, United States for about 10 years and Hancock, Maine, United States in 1920."
