[6413] Bradley's obituary: "Sangerville - Bradley W. Nuite, 69, passed away peacefully, Nov. 2, 2004, surrounded by his family. He was born July 14, 1935, in Dexter, to Doran L. and Katherine (Wingate) Nuite. Bradley graduated from Piscataquis Community High School in 1953, where he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America. He was active in 4-H from an early age and won many awards and trips for his dairy projects. He earned a bachelor degree (cum laude) in animal science with a minor in chemistry from the University of Maine at Orono in 1957. At the university he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and served as its president his senior year. He was also a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Upon graduation Bradley married Sally A. Willoughby and began his lifes work as a dairy farmer. In 1957 he commenced building Gilrock Farms consisting of his family home, shops, dairy barns, hay barns, saw mill and shingle mill. In 1973 he was named the Outstanding Farmer in Piscataquis County. He received the Leadership Citation for Outstanding Farmer of the Year through the University of Maine in 1978. He was active in local government, serving 15 years as a selectman in Sangerville and three years as town manager from 1981-84. He enjoyed time spent bundling shingles, building canoes and a kayak, traveling, and spending several winters in Florida. He utilized scrap wood to create many functional items such as boxes, bookcases, cedar chests, and Adirondack chairs. All of his life he was an avid reader. He was a member of the Abner Wade Masonic Lodge, a 50 year member of the South Sangerville Grange No. 335, and the Soil Conservation Service, and was honored once as Cooperator of the Year. He belonged to other agricultural and forestry organizations. Bradley leaves his mother, Katherine W. Nuite; two brothers, Graham and Wilson, all of Sangerville, and a sister, Barbara and David Lockwood of Dover-Foxcroft. He leaves five sons and two daughters, Lewis Nuite and Loretta of Atkinson, George Nuite, Blaine Nuite and Janet Hobson, Warren Nuite, and Barrett Nuite, all of Sangerville, Melynn Nuite of Salem, Mass., and Maradee Nuite Jacoby and Jim of Mt. Horeb, Wis. He leaves nine grandchildren, Larae, Caleb, Ezra, Betzy, Christopher, Zyla, Amber, Zachary, and Mitchell, along with three nephews and six nieces."

His wife was Hulda Watkins of Truro, Massachusetts. They were married November 17, 1765. They had a large family, some of the older ones were born in Massachusetts, the younger ones after they came here. Nicholas Snow died July 18, 1821, and he and his wife are buried in the field that was a part of their farm. The graves are marked only by a field stone. Children of Nicholas and Hulda Snow: Hulda, married Beninah Dorr; Mary, married Thomas Limeburner; Thankful, married Joab Black; Isaac, married Polly Paine; Elizabeth, married Nathaniel Gray; Hannah, born 1782."
