[56869] Peter's obituary: "Blythewood, South Carolina & Hampden - Peter Keith Tapley, 62, died peacefully August 27, 2007 following a long illness. He was born November 24, 1944 in Hartland, a son of Keith and Estelle (Randlett) Tapley. Peter graduated from Hartland Academy, Class of 1963 and graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Class of 1967. Following 3 years as an engineer in the merchant marines, Peter was employed as an engineer for 8 years with the General Electric Company in Schenectady, New York. In 1978 Peter returned to Maine with his family, settling in Hampden, where he was employed as a sales engineer to the pulp and paper industry until 2003 when illness forced him to retire. Peter is survived by his wife, Corinne (MacCabe) Tapley; his two sons and their families, Jonathan and wife Joy and daughter Megan of Irmo, SC, and Jeffrey, wife Carrie and daughters Erin and Sara of West End, NC. He is also survived by his mother, Estelle Tapley of Hartland; 2 sisters, Shari Vigue of Old Orchard Beach, Deborah Tapley and partner Deborah Francis of Lexington, SC; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Peter was predeceased by his father Keith Rees Tapley and his grandparents Ada and Linwood Randlett and Amber and Hale Tapley."
