Staples, a highly respected life-long resident of this town, occurred at his home this morning following a long decline. He had reached the age of 80 years 9 months and 18 days. He was a descendant of one of the earliest settlers of this region, and was one of the large families of the late Jonathan B. and Sarah Y. (Sparrow) Staples. He was twice married. First to Annie Partridge by whom she has a daugher, Mrs. Clara Perkins of Searsport. Following the death of his first wife, he married Margaret McCaslin who survives together with a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Moore, and two sons, Wilbur R. and Clifford N.
