[28488] The Shirer Family Genealogy Project at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mysong/scheur2.txt offers: "Johan Ulrich Scheurer might have been married twice or the same wife may have misrepresented with another surname. At any rate the name Dorothea Ballag(in) is found after 1746 and Dorothea Dietrich(in) before. The wills of Peter and Susannah Ballie are evidence that Dorothea was their daughter as they mention her by her married name and Susannah Ballie's will mentions seven of Ulrich and Dorothea's children. Ulrich might be from the same part of Weyer, Alsace, France that Johannes Scheurer was. He was born circa 1709. One source gives his birth as abt 1700, Bargen, Arberg County, Switzerland. He married Dorothea Ballie circa 1743. He died circa 1754. He left a will on 26 March 1754 which he signed on that date. His death occurred afterward. Dorothea Ballie was the daughter of Peter and Sunannah Ballie. She was born circa 1700 and died after 1772 in Maxatawny. Peter Ballie was born circa 1689 and died circa 29 Mar 1743, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, probably in Oley township. He married Susannah ?? who died 24 May 1755, Oley Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania."

"The Gazette and Daily [York, PA], 15 January 1948," p. 12: "Seven Valleys - Mrs. Sarah Stambaugh Markel, wife of the late William Wesley Markel, died Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kress, Seven Valleys RD 1, after an illness of eight weeks. Death was caused by complications.. She was 84 years old. She leaves two sons Charles I. Markel and Claude A. Markel, both of York; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Kress, with whom she resided; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Ellen Rice Menges Mills. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the C. O. Goodling Funeral home this place. Rev. Dr. Kenneth Earhart, pastor of Jefferson Lutheran church of which the deceased was a member, will officiate. Interment will be in Jefferson cemetery."
