Obituary kindly provided by Mona Anderson:
Delaware - Roger R. Fierbaugh, 93, of Delaware, passed away peacefully Friday, June 10, 2016 at Delaware Court of a broken heart.
He was born on April 9, 1923 in Ashland to the late Emmett and Faye (Paullin) Fierbuagh.
After graduating from Ashland High School in 1942, he attended Ashland College before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943. He proudly served in the Medical Corp. as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. Returning home he married the former Joanne Wheeler who he met while stationed in Montana. Together they raised three children and made a home in Texarkana, Texas. It was there that Roger worked at Cooper Tire, where he retired as plant superintendent. Sadly Joanne passed away in 1985.
Roger reconnected with Mary Alice (Crider) Baker whom he dated during their childhood and before he joined the Army Air Force. Widowed herself and with their flame rekindled they were married in 1986. He moved to Delaware and together they shared 30 wonderful years traveling and caring for each other's needs until her recent passing on June 1, 2016.
He was a member of William St. United Methodist Church and the former Delaware Elk's Lodge. During his spare time while employed with Cooper Tire he built houses and helped many co-workers improve their own homes. He could figure out solutions to almost any building or mechanical problem using his keen mind.
He enjoyed riding and tinkering on motorcycles, traveling in the RV and feeding his "boys," the raccoons that always found food and marshmallows at his back door. Always with a warm and engaging smile he was easy to befriend and will be remembered for his caring ways and love of family.
He is survived by his son, David (Janice) Fierbaugh of Tyler, Texas; daughter, Susan (Marcus) Feldman of St. Louis, Mo.; stepson, Joseph D. (Karen) Baker II, DO of Dothan, Ala.; grandchildren, James Fierbaugh, PharmD, Shelly, and Daniel Fierbaugh; great-grandchild, Thomas; step-grandchildren, Emily S. Baker, DDS, and Joseph F. Baker; and several nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents and two wives he was also preceded in death son, Stanley; and brother, Norman Fierbaugh.
. . . h/o Mary Alice Crider Baker (1925-2016), d/o Elmer C. and Emma Hartzler Crider, m. 2 Jan 1986, Bowie County, Texas
