Kistler, son John, Mrs. Miles Lightner and James Rheem, of ElIiottsburg, attended the funeral Monday of Mrs. John Kistler, of Harrisburg, which was held in the Church of God, Marysville, at 10.30 a. m., the pastor, Rev. Mr. McGuire, officiating. Burial was made in the cemetery there. Mrs. Kistler, who was Miss Emma Gertrude Fortenbaugh, of Marysville, where they resided before moving to Harrisburg. She had been in ill health several years. She met death in a horrible manner, her body being burned to a crisp. She was preparing to bake pies and had just started the fire, and it is not known what happened. Mr. Kistler was outside the house and heard no outcry and did not know of it until he saw smoke coming out of the house, hurrying in he found his wife lying face down on the floor in an outkitchen, her clothing burned entirely off. She was rushed to the Polyclinic Hospital. The accident occured at 1 p. m., Saturday and death followed at 3 p.m. Mr. Kistler is a son of Joseph Kistler, a native of Elliottsburg, and wife, who was Miss Mary Rickard, of Loysville. Mrs. Kistler was in her 53rd year. Surviving her are her husband, three sons, James, Howell and Carman Kistler, all of Harrisburg ; a step-mother and three brothers, of Marysville."

Mr. Keefer was born in Fisherville, Dauphin County, son of the late Charles and Maggie Lentz Keefer. He was a member of the Muir Fire Company. Surviving are his widow, the former Lillian Shade; two children, Mrs. Alice Carney, Adelphia, Md.; Blair Keefer, RD 1, Leola; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Shaffer, RD Dalmatia; three grandchildren.
