[60875] "The Bath-Brunswick Times Record," 6 April 1970: "Penacook, N. H. - Mrs. Betty White Hodgdon, 53, formerly of Topsham, and a teacher in the Main Street School here for the past six years, died Friday at a Hanover, N. H. hospital. She was born at Topsham, Feb. 12, 1917, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William L. White. She was graduated from Brusnwick High School and Gorham Normal School. The widow of Ralph Hodgdon, who died several years ago, she resided at Mt. Desert until moving to Penacook eight years ago. Surviving are her parents of Winter Street, Topsham; two sons, Ralph W. of Tremont, and James A. Hodgdon of Penacook, two daughters, Miss Carolyn HOdgdon and Mrs. Gwendolyn Auprey, both of Penacook; a brother, William L. Jr., Englewood, N. J., a sister, MRs. Virginia Merrill of East Harpswell; three grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. Funeral services were held at 3:15 p.m. today from the Wendall Butt Funeral Home in Penacook. Interment will be in Powers Cemetery, Mt. Desert.
