[28651] Mary apparently never married.
Information as received 27 May 2001 from Keith W. Parke (park_gary@hotmail.com):
Jeremiah L. Miller, son of Peter and Ruth Miller, was born December 26, 1846 in Stark County, Ohio. Jeremiah married Hester Tennant in February 23, 1875 in Warsaw, Kosciusko County, Indiana. Hester, daughter of John C. Tennant and Rachel Skiver, was born April 30, 1854 in Warsaw, Indiana and died February 26, 1929 in South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. Jeremiah served for the Union Army during the Civil War. Joyce Miller Parke, Jeremiahs granddaughter, told the story of when Jeremiah went to enlist in the Army. Jeremiah was only 15 years old and knew that in order to enlist that the age requirement was 16 years old. So he wrote the number 16 on two pieces of paper and placed them in his shoes. Having done this, Jeremiah stepped up to enlist and was asked his age. His reply was I over 16, and signed up. After the war Jeremiah became a blacksmith by trade. Jeremiah L. Miller died May 29, 1903 in Noble County, Indiana. Hester and Jeremiah are both buried at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion, Noble County, Indiana.

[41700] Find A Grave Memorial 38585623 offers: "The son of Philip Sturgis of Hannington, Northampshire, England, he married Elizabeth Hinckley in 1637. The Sturgis family can be traced back five generations past Philip Sturgis to William de Turges who received grants of land from Edward I, King of England, in the village of Turges, county of Northampton (later called Northfield). Edward Sturgis came, perhaps on the HERCULES with Thomas Hinckley, to New England and settled in Sandwich in the Mass. Bay Colony in 1634. He was in Yarmouth, Cape Cod, in 1639, where he was appointed constable in 1640/1, counted as able to bear arms in 1643, a member of the Grand Inquest of the minister [John Miller] on June 4, 1650 & in 1658 when he represented Yarmouth in a dispute with the Indians, committeeman on affairs of the colony in 1657, and deputy to the general assembly in 1672. In 1646, he was "licensed to keep an oridinary (inn)and raw wyne at Yarmouth". In 1663, he was fined for bringing liquor into town without giving notice so that it could be inventoried and his license was revolked. He married (1) Elizabeth Hinckley and (2) Mary, widow of Zachariah Rider on April 20, 1692 when he was 79 yr. of age. A marriage agreement was drawn on April 20, 1692 to assure the widow Rider the preservation of her property."
[48901] Beatrice is daughter of Israel Tuttle (1844-1905) & Mary Caroline Wyman (1851-1940).
Amanda is daugher of John B. Weibley and Catharine Hipple, his second wife. John was born in 1799 and died 18 April 1855 (per Ed Weaver via email). John is great-grandson of Jacob Weibly who arrived 30 Aug 1749 on the ship "Crown", listed as a minor - he m.
