The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vinton L. Beal of Beals, Maine, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Ellouise Beal and the late Lyman Beal of Jonesport, Maine. The bride, dressed in blue silk with veil and accessories to match and carrying a white Bible with an orchid, was escorted down the aisle by Thomas Snelson of Lexington. Miss Judith McKeon was maid of honor. She wore a blue and white linen dress with white accessories and a puff bouquet. Paul Mosco of Lexington was best man and the ushers were the bridegroom's cousin, David J. Dakin of Woburn and Rickard McKeon of Lexington. A reception was held at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Marjorie McKeon, 582 Massachusetts Avenue. Mrs. David Dakin was in charge of the guest book. The bridegroom is a graduate of Jonesport High School and has served three years in the army. The bride is a graduate of Beals High School and Bay State Academy, Boston, Mass. After a wedding trip the couple will reside at Limestone Air Force Base."

He was born on November 2, 1939, in Winterport, ME, to Thola (Littlefield) and Clyde Lowe. Gary will be deeply missed by his brother, Merle and his wife, Betsy, of Conway, NH; his beloved nieces, Michelle, Lori, Barbara, Kristie, and Anjie; and his nephew, Chester. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry; and his long-time friend, Parker Clements. Gary was a man of great integrity and dedication. He graduated from Winterport High School and embarked on a successful career in accounting. He worked diligently at Merchants National Bank, where he rose to the position of bank auditor. Later, he served his community as the Winterport Town Manager, exemplifying his commitment to public service. Gary's passion for public service extended to his role as the State Representative from District 99 in the 109th Maine State Legislature. He was a tireless advocate for his constituents, working diligently to bring about positive change. After his political career, Gary found fulfillment as a familiar face at the Holiday Health and Racquetball Club, which later became Gold's Gym. For over 25 years, he brightened the mornings of countless individuals, helping them achieve their fitness goals and fostering a sense of community. Even in retirement, Gary continued to contribute his talents and expertise as he worked part-time for the Maine Tourism Association. His dedication to showcasing the beauty and charm of Maine was unwavering. Gary's commitment to his community extended beyond his professional endeavors. He was an active member of numerous organizations, including the Golden Harvest, Granite, Penobscot Pomona, Waldo Pomona, Maine State, and National Granges. He also lent his support to the Brewer, Carmel, and Winterport Historical Societies, the Bangor Museum and History Center, the Winterport Union Meeting House Association, the Carmel Senior Citizen's Club, the Bangor Nature Club, the Friends of Bangor Public Library, the Friends of Fort Knox, the Searsport United Methodist Church, the Matthews Museum, the BNRC Auxiliary, and AARP. Gary's involvement in these organizations showcased his civic-mindedness and his unwavering commitment to making a difference. In his later years, Gary found solace and joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed tending to his garden, immersing himself in the pages of a good book, and embarking on treasure hunts at local yard sales. Gary's love for community potluck suppers was well-known, and in his memory, a potluck supper will be held on Thursday, November 9, at the Golden Harvest Grange on Main Road in Carmel, ME, commencing at 12 p.m. This gathering will serve as an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to come together, share cherished memories, and celebrate Gary's remarkable life. Attendees are kindly invited to bring their favorite dish to contribute to the communal feast. Gary L. Lowe will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his community, his commitment to public service, and his love for his family and friends.
