He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Helen Geist, on May 26, 1963. He was married to the former Sarah Howard on Oct. 24, 1969 in Harrisburg. Surviving, in addition to, his widow, are five children, Lila, wife of Paul Rebuck, Leck Kill; Faye, wife of Derl Kieffer, RD Dornsife; June, wife of Franklin Brosius, Chambersburg; John R. Reitz, Derwood, Md.; Leah, wife of Ronald Knerr, Laurel, Md.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four, brothers, A. Lester of Leck Kill; Norman J., Altoona; Dr. Melvin, Valley View; Irvin, Camp Hill; three sisters, Gertie, wife of Charles Moyer, RD Breinigsville; Mrs. Mary Geist, Leck Kill; Eleanor, wife of Lawrence Rothermel, RD Klingerstown. A sister, Mrs. Helen Adams, died in 1972."
