The Chronicle of Adémar de Chabannes names 'Alduinus et Villelmus' as the two sons of Vulgrin, in a later passage recording that Alduin inherited Angoulême. A recital (undated) of two miracles attributed to relics conserved in the abbey of Charroux names 'Audoinus filius Vulgrinni' as count of Angoulême. He succeeded his father in 886 as Alduin I Comte d'Angoulême. The death 'VI Kal Apr 916' of 'Ilduinus comes' is recorded in the 'Annales Engolismenses''. The Chronicle of Adémar de Chabannes records that 'Vulgrimni filius eius Alduinus' lived thirty years after succeeding his father, and in a later passage his death 'VI Kal Apr' and his burial next to his father . . . . The name of Alduin's wife is not known."

He married (2) Annie M. Hamm 22 October 1977. She was born 13 April 1929 in Monroe, Waldo, ME4016, and died 25 June 2000 in Stockton Springs, Waldo, ME." Annie's obituary from the Bangor Daily News: "Stockton Springs - Annie M. (Hamm) Matthews Wardwell, 71, died after a courageous battle with a terminal illness, June 25, 2000. She was born in Monroe, April 13, 1929, the daughter of Cyrus and Daisy (Arbuckle) Hamm. Annie was a homemaker and a CNA. She loved giving and caring for others. She enjoyed cruises and playing cards. Annie will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched with her ready smile and happy personality. She was predeceased by her first husband, Alvah F. Matthews of Deer Isle and second husband, Richard B. Wardwell of Orland; two sisters, and two brothers, Cecile, Muriel, Carl and Rudolph. She is survived by a son, Daniel Matthews of Belfast; a daughter, 'Trudy' Wilcox of Stockton Springs; her sisters and brothers, Kathleen, Christine, Ethel, Jean, Dorothy, Carlene, Raymond, William and Walter; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews."

Beck, all of Orland; two stepchildren, Dan Matthews and his wife, Marie of Bucksport, and Trudy Wilcox and her husband, Lenny of Stockton Springs; nine grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren, who were the joy of his life, Julie, Jana, John, Jason Ricky, Stormy and Misty Wardwell, Jamie and John Beck, all of Orland Danielle Matthews of Bucksport, and Billy and Tracy Wilcox of Stockton Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Guida Martin of Acton, Mass., Gail Wight and Elizabeth Wight, both of Bucksport; two brothers, Raymond Wardwell and Duane Wardwell, both of Orland; two cousins, Philip Hutchins and Betty Billings, both of Bucksport; several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind many dedicated employees who had great respect for Dick. He was predeceased by his father, H. Robert; and his brother, Robert Wardwell,"
