[58281] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 16 December 2024: "Beals - After a long-fought battle of kidney failure and heart related issues, Hiram Owen Alley passed away on December 10, 2024, at Downeast Community Hospital. Hiram was born to Archie Jr. and Maxine, on November 8, 1957. Hiram was raised on Beals Island and made his living on the ocean as did his father, Archie Jr. Whether it was clam digging, blood and sand worming, scallop dragging or lobster fishing, he worked the ocean to provide for his family. Later in life, he married his love, Wilhelmina Tracy, of West Jonesport. They had one child, Jowen Hiram Alley One of Hiram's favorite hobbies was deer hunting. During deer hunting season, he spent many nights at the camp on Head Harbor with the crew. Hiram also enjoyed cheering for his favorite sports teams, Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and NASCAR's number 5, Kyle Larson. Later in his life, he succumbed to kidney failure and required dialysis for the remainder of his life. While having dialysis, he made many friends including workers at Davita Dialysis, who loved him very much, to many of the patients who would get a laugh out of him. He was known as the 'candy man' to many there as he would bring Reese's, M&M's, Kit Kats, and Life Saver's with him every day and all were welcome to enjoy snacking on them. Hiram is survived by his son, Jowen Alley; and brother, Leland Alley and wife, Lisa, all of Beals. In addition, he is survived by his furry 'grandchildren' cats, Batman and Momo, whom he loved very much. Hiram was predeceased by his wife, Wilhelmina; parents, Archie Jr., and Maxine; sister, Ellen;' and brother, Archie Alley III. A graveside service will be held at Great Wass Cemetery, on Hiram and Wilhelmina's anniversary date of May 15, 2025, at 1 p.m."

[25874] An unverified Colcord Family Tee in Ancestry.com in 2017 offers: "When Lydia Strout was born in 1770 in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, her father, Jonathan, was 25, and her mother, Sarah, was 19. She married William Morton on November 29, 1787, in her hometown. They had nine children in 23 years. She died in May 1842 in Corinna, Maine, at the age of 72."
