[51968] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 5 October 2017": "Prospect Harbor - Ruth Leach Ober died at home on Sept. 29, 2017. She was born in Rehoboth, Mass., on June 19, 1921, the daughter of Edith Olson Leach and Harry Leach. She resided in Warwick, R.I., and later moved to Downeast Maine. She was a graduate of Aldrich High School. She was predeceased by four brothers, John, David, Donald and Harry Jr., and two sisters, Hope and Betty. Her sister Elsa Chilinski survives her. Married to Floyd Rollins Ober for 62 years, they had four children: Conrad Ober, Ann Maske, Becky Birely and Clyde Ober. She left behind many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who all knew her as Nana. Ruth attended Lakewood Baptist Church, Ashville Community Church and Prospect Harbor United Methodist Church. She had a passion for mission work and made and donated rolled bandages, hats, prayer shawls and dozens of baby sweater sets. She received a pin in recognition of her generosity in sending care packages to Afghanistan. She was actively involved in church, volunteered for Girl Scouts, Hospice and Faith in Action and was named Volunteer of the Year by Faith in Action in 2007. She loved everyone, and was known for her beaming smile and warm hugs. Ruth was an outdoor girl. She loved the water with swimming, boating and fishing and was a member of the Old Sow Whirlpool Survivors Club. She had a green thumb for growing vegetables and flowers especially African violets. When spring and summer rolled around you would find her gathering dandelions, picking berries and going on picnics. Ruth enjoyed sharing stories of Jesus, knitting, baking pies and playing cards."

There has been confusion as to the parents of William Morton. Virginia Horler
"Bryant 2nd, who married Love Frost, and his family lived first in Gorham, North Yarmouth and Berwick and back to Gorham. He arrived at Jackson Plantation in 1804 and settled on Lot #43.
His son, Bryant 3rd and his wife Mary made their home with Bryant 2nd and his wife. Other Mortons arriving in Jackson in the early 1800's were Ebenezer and Elisha Morton, and Thomas and Hannah Wescott Morton. The name Bryant was not spelled with a 'Y' in their bible records (Briant).
"He died 26 May 1812 at his farm in Jackson of cancer. Buried at his request in his orchard east of the house. Lot #43.
"A Vassalboro Quaker in 1796.
\
"Notes from Morton-Rich Ancestry Line by Frances Morton/Rich Demars, 1995, page 51: Above records volunteered by Berniece Blaisdell, Norridgewok, ME. Her mother had them on pages torn from family bible. She is descendant of George Morton & wife Hannah.
7 children born in Gorham, and No. Yarmouth between 1767 and 1779.
"Original source of Bryant Morton stats found in Yarmouth, ME vital records; in "Pioneers of MASS by Pope; by researchers Dennis Stires and Mary Cheney. Dennis Stires of Livermore Falls, ME is the husband of Margaret Jane Morton.
"Genealogical and Family History of the State of Maine, Volume 3, by Henry Sweetser Burrage and Albert Roscoe Stubbs, page 1116.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It is also important to note that William Morton, son of Bryant Morton (2nd) and Love Frost, and his wife Lydia (Strout) named a daugther 'Love' and did not name a daughter 'Rachel' which would be likely if William was the son of Thomas Morton and Rachel (Elwell) as the qncestry.com trees say.
Now to your question about Sabrina. My source was an ancestry.com world tree by 'Contact Unknown'. The Morton-Rich Ancestry has no information on the children of William Morton and Love Frost. I did look at the vital records of marriages at Belfast, Waldo, Maine and certainly agree with you that this Sabrina must have married Oliver Bean 25 Nov 1822 in Belfast. I have changed my own records to reflect this marriage."
Virginial Horler wrote is 2020: "The deed in question was signed in 1818 but not recorded until 1823 in Cumberland Co ME, DB94 p313, between William and Lydia (Strout) Morton, Ephraim and Sally (Strout) Gent, and Jonathan and Rhoda Strout who deeded Cape Elizabeth land to Jesse Dyer. (Sally Strout who married Ephraim Gent and Jonathan Strout were sister and brother of Lydia Strout). The grantee I gave you is Jesse Brown, whereas the correct grantee is Jesse Dyer. The Demars book also gives the date of 1818, which is the date the deed was signed, but to find it you need to look at the date it was recorded in 1823." - see https://archive.org/stream/brianmortonesq1700dema/#mode/2up
[8698] "The News [Newport, PA], 14 March 1912," p. 1: "Mrs. Anna Belle Bower, wife of John A. Bower of Spring township, died of cancer on Sunday morning, aged 72 years. She had been ill for about a year. She was the daughter of David Sheaffer and wife of Spring township, and she and Mr. Bower to whom she was married by Rev. Peter Sahm in October 1862, were students of Loysville Academy at the same time. She was a member of the Lutheran church for many years. Her husband and the following children survive her: Mrs. Annie Wilcox and Joseph N. Bower of Chicago, Charles S. of Saxton, Harry of Philadelphia and Milton R. at home. The funeral will be today, services to be held at 10 a. m., with interment in Mount Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Spring township." Anna is daughter of David Sheaffer and Sarah Tizel.
