(Turner) Beal, formerly of Beals Island, died Friday in Portland hospital. He was born at Beals Island Jan. 14, 1876, the son of Barney and Phoebe Ann (Standwood) Beal. He attended island schools and was a lobster dealer. He was a member of the Masons at Jonesport and member of the Reorganized Latter-day Saints Church. Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Chester Kennedy, South Portland; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Vern Simpson, Bangor; five grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren."

Burnham (1846-1881), daughter of Hiram Burnham (1814-1864) & Elizabeth Sproul Brinton (1814-1860), both buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Cherryfield, Washington Co., Maine. Find A Grave memorial 5893356 offers concerning Hiram: "Civil War Union Brigadier General. Born in Narraguagus, Maine, he entered the Union Army at the start of the Civil War and was commissioned Colonel of the 6th Maine Infantry Regiment. Serving with the Army of the Potomac, he led his regiment at the battles of Crampton's Gap, Antietam and was wounded at Fredericksburg. In 1863, he distinguished himself at Chancellorsville, Gettysburg and the Overland Campaign. Promoted Brigadier General in April 1864, he was assigned command of the 1st Division, XVII Corps. On September 29, 1864, commanding his corps at the Battle of Fort Harrison near Richmond, Virginia, he was killed in action."
