[6929] http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/SCOTLAND.htm offers in 2007: "Wwilliam FitzDuncan, son of Duncan II King of Scotland & his wife Ethelreda of Northumberland ([1091/94]-[1153/54]). That William was his father's only child is shown by King Duncan's charter dated to 1093 referring to 'infans mei'. As the actual date of the charter is more likely to be 1094, this leaves little time for the birth of any more children before the king's murder. '…Willelmo nepote comitis…' witnessed the charter dated to [1120] under which 'David comes filius Malcolmi Regis Scottorum' founded the abbey of Selkirk'. 'Alexander nepos regis Alexandri…' subscribed the possibly spurious charter dated to [1120] of 'Alexander…Rex Scottorum…Sibilla regina Scottorum…'. No other reference to Alexander nephew of King Alexander has been found. Duncan suggests the entry is an error for William and that his position in the witness list indicates that he may then have been intended by the king as his successor. William acquired rights in Allerdale, Cumberland, held by his maternal uncle Waltheof. '…Willelmus nepos ipsius principis…' witnessed inquisitions by 'David…Cumbrensis regionis princeps', dated 1124, concerning land owned by the church of Glasgow. '…Willelmo filio Duncani…' witnessed a charter dated to [1128] by which 'David…Rex Scottorum' made grants to the church of St John in the castle of Roxburgh. He may have claimed the mormaership of Moray in 1130 after the defeat of his brother-in-law Angus Mormaer of Moray, by right of his first wife. 'Willelmo nepote Regis…' witnessed a charter dated to [1135] by which 'David Rex Scottorum' granted Swinton to 'Arnulfo…mee militi'. Lord of Skipton and Craven de iure uxoris. 'Willelmo filio Duncani, Gospatrico filio eius…' witnessed a charter dated to before 1138 under which 'Gospatricus comes frater Dolfini' made grants to the monks of St Cuthbert. He fought at the battle of the Standard in Aug 1138. m firstly Grualdh of Moray, daughter of Aedh [Heth] Mormaer of Moray & his wife --- [daughter of Lulach King of Scotland]. m secondly (1138) as her first husband, Alice de Rumilly Lady of Skipton, daughter of William "le Meschin" Lord of Copeland [younger son of Ranulf Vicomte du Bessin] & his wife Cecily de Rumilly Lady of Skipton. She married secondly (before 1156) Alexander FitzGerold." See "Medieval English Ancestors of Certain Americans," Carl Boyer III (Santa Clarita, CA, 2001), p. 227.
[53446] Minnie is daughter of James Sproul Merchant (1871-1973) & Flora Etta Abbott (1871-1945; m. 19 September 1897).

[21091] Eugene's information is from the Meyers Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2018. Eugene Ernest Miller apparently is NOT the husband of Grace Marie Shade: "The York Dispatch [York, Pennsylvania], 25 August 2000," p. 38: "Eugene E. Miller of Red Lion died at 12:40 pm Aug 23 at Colonial Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was 74. Mr Miller retired in 1987 from Yorktowne Kitchens, Red Lion, where he was a sander for 30 years. He served in the Army in Korea and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of Carpenters and Joiners Local No 1806, Red Lion. Born in Dallastown Oct. 10, 1925, he was a son of the late Ward E. and Minnie M. Floyd Miller. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Anna L. Hahn Miller; a daughter, Karen S. Urey of Brogue; and three grandchildren. A son Michael S. Miller is deceased."
[29232] See "The Register" (Bston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, Summer 2019), Vol. 173, pp. 197-205 for an extended discussion of this family in which ALL of Isaac's children are attributed to Mary. Mary is first wife of Isaac. "Ancestors of American Presidents, 2009 Edition," Gary Boyd Roberts (Boston: NEHGS, 2009), p. 571, shows a line of descent from them to U. S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Larry Overmire posted on http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com this hypothesis: "The main documented source for clues to Mary Norris's ancestry apparently come from the Register of Maryland?s Heraldic Families, which contains a curious note on page 279: 'Mary Norris, granddaughter of Sir Henry Norris of England, came on the ship 'Mayflower' to Plymouth , MA. and married Isaac Allerton, and came to live in Westmoreland Co. VA in 1650. They became neighbors of Sir Thomas Gerrard and Joh n Lee, who jointly built the first club house of America, 1670.' This is odd. Mary Norris died in 1621 and couldn't have moved to Westmoreland Co., VA. However, Isaac Allerton Jr., t he son of Isaac and Fear Brewster, did move to Westmoreland Co. and was co-owner of a mill with John Lee. Somehow the writers of the Register of Maryland's Heraldic Families got at least some of their information confused. If Mary was the granddaughter of Sir Henry Norris, and there is no reason to doubt it, then which Sir Henry Norris was it? The Register provides a clue on pg. 278, 'John Norris, son of Sir Henry II came to Virginia from England and Barbados on the ship Truelove 1635.' The Register does not say how or if John and Mary are related, but the fact that the writers make a distinction between 'Sir Henry Norris' and 'Sir Henry II' indicates that we are talking about two separate individu als, the father and his son. The elder Sir Henry Norris (abt 1525-1601) was the distinguished 1st Baron Norreys of Oxfordshire and Berkshire, a friend of Queen Elizabeth. I am speculating that he is the one the Register is referring t o as being Mary;s grandfather. But who was her father? That remains a mystery. Sir Henry had six sons--William, John , Edward, Henry II, Thomas, and Maximilian. William died in 1579, before Mary was born. Edward and his wife had no issue. John was famous in his own right and if Mary had been his daughter, she most certainly would have been described as such. That leaves Henry II, Thomas or Maximilian as the most likely candidates." Also see "Plymouth Colony: Its History and People, 1620-1691)," Eugene Aubrey Stratton (Ancestry Publishing, Provo, UT, 1986), p. 333.
