[61739] Roger's obituary: "Roger O. Dorr, 82, of Cherryfield passed away after a short illness on Feb. 4, 2026 at Evergreen Assisted Living in Jonesport. He was born on July 17, 1943 in Columbia Falls, ME. He grew up in Columbia Falls and attended Grammar School and High School there. In 1963 he married Carol Worcester Dorr, they spent 63 years together and had three children. (Kim Coffin, Kevin Dorr and Jeff Dorr). Roger started working full-time as a truck driver at the age of 17 and retired at age 74. (57 years) He drove many different trucks for many companies such as: Fred's Express, Coles Express, Wyman's Blueberry Co., Maine Wild Blueberry, R.W. Mathews & Sons, Worcester Wreath Co. When he wasn't driving you could find him cutting wood on his wood lot in Columbia Falls. Roger was a quiet, mild mannered, non argumentative, and kind hearted type of guy. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Roger is survived by his wife Carol Dorr of Cherryfield; a daughter Kim Coffin and husband Fenton of Steuben ; a son Jeff Dorr and wife Heidi of Hancock; Grandchildren- Jonathon Coffin and wife Mariah of Steuben, Jared Coffin and wife Katie of Steuben, Cody Dorr and wife Morgan of Jonesport, MaKayla Dorr and Damien Downes of Milbridge, Nevin Dorr and Heather Havey of Franklin, Caleb Young and Olivia Winger of Trenton; Great grandchildren- Charlotte, Carter and Ava Coffin, Keelan, Bowen and Bennett Dorr, and Paisley Young. Predeceased by his parents: Orrin and Ethel Dorr; son Kevin Dorr, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Special Friends (Allen and Mildred Emerson)."

They had 9 children: Huldah, John, Thomas, William, Betsey, Enoch, Aaron, Augustus, Polly, and Aaron. He lived first in Andover, and removed to Bridgton, Maine. In the winter of 1783-4 he was one of the founders of the town and was a church deacon for 36 years. He was at the seige and capture of Louisburg in 1758 and was a Lieutenant at the taking of Ticonderoga in 1759. He was a Captain of a company that marched from Andover on the news of the battle of Bunker Hill."

A family of this composition and names is listed in the 15 January 1920 federal census in Reading, Berks Co., PA which lists William as a machinist in a locomotive shop. The 1930 federal census in Reading shows Mary as head of family with the two children - Mary is a clerk in a hosiery mill and is listed as a widow. The 1940 federal census in Reading lists a Charles, as clerk in a hosiery mill with wife, Ida (age 36). Further research is needed.
