[35825] This person is from the Dill Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2013.
"News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 28 August 1970," p. 20: "Shelby - Floyd V. Tucker, 83, of 48 East Whitney Ave., died Thursday morning after a long illness. He spent his entire life in the Shelby area and he was a former Shelby Chief of Police retiring in 1936. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is survived by his wife, Fleta; one son, Vernon of Plymouth; and one daughter, Mrs. Ila Donnerwirth of Plymouth; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Velma Smith of Warren, Mich.; two half sisters, Mrs: Chris Schneider and Mrs. Helen Bryant both of Ashland; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews."
Buried with Floyd is Fleta I. Griffith (1889-1976), apparently his wife. Foyd is son of Franklin P. Tucker (1852-1921) & Roanne Elizabeth Hisey (1855-1899). Ancestry.com offers: "Tucker Name Meaning - English (chiefly southwestern England and South Wales): occupational name for a fuller, from an agent derivative of Middle English tuck(en) 'to full cloth' (Old English tucian 'to torment'). This was the term used for the process in the Middle Ages in southwestern England, and the surname is more common there than elsewhere. Compare Fuller and Walker. Americanized form of Jewish To(c)ker (see Tokarz). Irish: Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Tuachair 'descendant of Tuachar', a personal name composed of the elements tuath 'people' + car 'dear', 'beloved'. Possibly also an Americanized form of German Tucher, from an occupational name for a cloth maker or merchant, from an agent derivative of Middle High German tuoch 'cloth'."
[44689] George is son of Benjamin Woolsey (1717-1771) & Ann Muirson (1738-1807).
