[42943] Homer Beers James reports (http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~pmcbride/james/f023.htm#I1259X1): "Maurice Berkeley, of Bruton, co. Somerset, Knight and standard-bearer to King Henry VIII, and King Edward VI, and to Queen Elizabeth. Of this gentleman it is mentioned, that, in the 1st year of Queen Mary, riding casually in London, he met with Sir Thomas Wyat at Temple Bar, and persuading him to yield himself to the queen, Sir Thomas took his advise, and mounting behind Sir Maurice , rode to the court. He married (1) Catherine, daughter of William Blount Baron Mountjoy, and was ancestor of the Berkeleys of Bruton, and of Pylle, of Berkeley Portman Lord Portman, and the Berkeleys, Viscount Fitz-Harding, and by her had the following children: 1. Henry Berkeley, Knight, of Bruton, who married Margaret Lygon, daughter of William Lygon, Esq., of Madresfield, co. Worcester, and was succeeded by his eldest son, Maurice Berkeley, who received the honor of knighthood from the Earl of Essex, while serving under that nobleman in the expedition to Calais, in 1596. 2. Edward Berkeley 3. Gertrude Berkeley, married Edward Horne, Esq. 4. Elizabeth Berkeley, married James Percival, Esq., of Weston, Gordano, co. Somerset. 5. (Maurice married (2) Elizabeth Sandes, daughter of Anthony Sandes, Esq., and by her was ancestor of the Berkeleys of Boycot, co. Kent. From his second marriage there were two sons and a daughter.)" Find A Grave Memorial 73179545 reports: "He was Standard Bearer to Henry VIII, Edward VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was the second son of Sir Richard Berkeley of Stoke Gifford, descendant of Maurice III, Lord Berkeley and his wife Eve Zouche, and of his first wife Katherine Blount, daughter of William Lord Mountjoy, ob. 25, Feb. 1559, of their sons; Henry, Edward and Francis - all Knights. Also of his second wife Elizabeth Sands, ob. 1585."
[55821] The unverified file K85N-QDP in familysearch.org offers: "When Dorothy Evelyn Dwelley was born on 16 June 1898, in Whiting, Washington, Massachusetts, United States, her father, Richard Gardner Dwelley, was 26 and her mother, Rosa Mae Holmes, was 27. She married Leonard Wallace Sr. Hutchins on 27 May 1921, in Fort Fairfield, Aroostook, Maine, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son. She lived in East Machias, Washington, Maine, United States for about 20 years. She died on 8 November 1972, in Fort Fairfield, Aroostook, Maine, United States, at the age of 74, and was buried in Fort Fairfield, Aroostook, Maine, United States."
[22216] George Adam and wife are probably buried in the Falkner Swamp Lutheran Church cemetery at New Hanover, PA. Their marriage is recorded at New Hanover Lutheran Church, New Hanover Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. He probably emigrated from Germany to Philadelphia on the Ship Alexander and Ann, arriving 5 Sept 1730. He appears on the ship's lists as Adam Fillipott, Adam Hillipott and Adam Hilpott - - see "Pennsylvania German Pioneers...," Ralph Beaver Srassburger (Camden, ME: Picton Press, 1992), I:34-36. This was once suggested as the Helbert ancestry, but is questionable. See http://www.geocities.com/tiana.geo/ANCES2.HTM (not verified), which also gives his family; also see: http://www.larryhillpot.com/first.htm. The surname became Helbert. Ancestry.com offers: "Helbert Name Meaning - North German: variant of Hilbert, or from another Germanic compound personal name, Helmbert, composed of the elements helm helmet, protection + berht bright, illustrious.French and Dutch: from a Germanic personal name composed of the elements heil healthy + berht bright, illustrious.Dutch: hypercorrected form of Elbert."
