He was born Feb. 8, 1914, in Jonesport, the son of William and Lena (Merchant) Faulkingham. John retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after serving 23 years and went into the lobstering business. He had served the Coast Guard at Merrimack River Lifeboat Station near Newburyport, Mass., Burnt Island Lifeboat Station, Monhegan Island Light Station, Manana Fog Signal Station, Whitehead Lifeboat Station, Egg Rock at Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor Base, Baker Island Light Station, and aboard the patrol boat at Jonesport. She had made her home with relatives in Mount Carmel until six years ago when she went to Ohio to stay with her daughter. The body is being sent to this city and will be kept at the Otto funeral home until Friday when it will be taken to Pitman. A service is to be held in Heim's church there at 1:30 o'clock, burial following in the cemetery adjoining the church. Mrs. Hepler's maiden name was also Hepler. Her husband died many years ago. Besides the daughter, she leaves a sister, Mrs. Priscilla Hubler, of Barnesville, Schuylkill County, a brother, Emanuel Hepler, of Pitman, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."

His wife was Hulda Watkins of Truro, Massachusetts. They were married November 17, 1765. They had a large family, some of the older ones were born in Massachusetts, the younger ones after they came here. Nicholas Snow died July 18, 1821, and he and his wife are buried in the field that was a part of their farm. The graves are marked only by a field stone. Children of Nicholas and Hulda Snow: Hulda, married Beninah Dorr; Mary, married Thomas Limeburner; Thankful, married Joab Black; Isaac, married Polly Paine; Elizabeth, married Nathaniel Gray; Hannah, born 1782."
