"The Daily Pioneer [Alva, Oklahoma], 27 December 1915," p. 1: "Mr. John Baird who came to Alva from Lorain, Ohio a few weeks ago to make his home with his daughter Mrs. N. A. Springer of 4th and Church streets died yesterday. He was 83 years of age and possessed all his faculties wonderfully well so his death was quite a shock to the family. He leaves beside Mrs. Springer two sons, Leigh of Alliance, Nebraska and B. W. of Loraine and Mrs. J. D. Simpson of Eureka, Kansas, Mrs. M. Carr of Eureka, Kansas, and a number of grand children There was a short and solemn funeral service at the house at 6 o'clock last evening after which Mrs. Springer and Mrs. Art Rumsey accompanied the body to Eureka, Kansas to be buried by the side of his wife who died six years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Baird lived in Alva a number of years and were members of the Presbyterian church here . . ."

Find A Grave memorial 166675245 offers: "Topeka Daily Capital, Thursday, Aug. 11, 1977, page 31: Forrest I. Ralston, 70, 1278 High, died Wednesday afternoon in a Topeka hospital following a long illness. He was born Jan. 7, 1907, in Sabetha and moved to Topeka in 1930. He was a pharmacist and owned and operated Owl Drug Store in Topeka many years. He also operated other drug stores in Topeka. He recieved his degree in pharmacy from Brunswick School of Pharmacy, Brunswick, Mo.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 51, AF&AM, Topeka Consistory, Arab Shrine, Kansas Pharmaceutical Association, Shawnee County Pharmaceutical Association and the Central Congregational Church. He was married Dec. 24, 1929, to Laurel Ewing in Sabetha. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marcia Boling, Guilford, Conn.; a son, Dan K. Ralston, Redding, Calif.; two brothers, Harold E. Ralston, Kansas City, Kan., and Virgil M. Ralston, Janesville, Wis., and six grandchildren."
