[54565] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor Maine]," 24 Agust 2023: "Old Town - Wayne Alden Edgecomb, loving husband, father and grandfather, lost his battle with Alzheimer's Disease on August 20, 2023, at the age of 82. Wayne was born on May 5, 1941, as the youngest child of Percy L. Edgecomb and Maude E. (Fuller) Edgecomb. He grew up in Great Works and graduated from Old Town High School in 1960. After high school, Wayne joined the United States Navy as a Seabee from 1961 to 1965. He was very proud to serve his country. Wayne started dating Carol Lee Baker after completing his active duty. Wayne would pick her up in his cherished 1955 Chevy Bel Air that he named "Tammy." Carol and Wayne were wed at the Great Works Baptist Church on August 29, 1964. Together they raised two daughters in a home in Old Town, that Wayne was continuously renovating for his family. Wayne worked at the University of Maine for 38 years in Facilities Management, starting in 1965 as a carpenter and retiring in 2003 as a Project Manager. One of his passions was fire fighting and he proudly served as the Captain of fire department at the University of Maine and later went on to become the University's first Fire Marshall. Above all, Wayne was a family man. Whether it was camping, traveling through the White Mountains of New Hampshire to visit a theme park, or fishing a brook or pond in Maine, he could be found with his wife and girls. No one could have asked for a more caring and genuine Dad. He was simply the best. Later in life he became a grandfather to his best friend and fishing buddy. Known to an entire community simply as 'Grampie,' Wayne immersed himself in his grandson's life and there has never been or will never be a bond stronger than what the two shared. When Wayne was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2014, Carol vowed to care for him until his last breath. They battled the challenges of dementia for 9 ½ years. Carol was by his side night and day. Their love never waivered and he took his last breath 9 days shy of their 59th Anniversary. Wayne was predeceased by his parents; and his six siblings, Walter Edgecomb, Wendell Edgecomb, Vernon Edgecomb, Homer Edgecomb, Virginia Linnenschmidt and Thelma Holmes. He is survived by the love of his life, Carol of Veazie; daughter, Deanna Reed and her husband, Bill of Clifton; daughter, Rhonda Vigue and her husband, Allen, of Brewer; and his grandson, Justin Kyle Pagan and his girlfriend, Sydney Gray, of Bangor."

[41782] See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magdalene_Sibylle_of_Holstein-Gottorp which reports "Magdalene Sybille was the daughter of Duke Frederick III of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp (1597-1659) and his wife Marie Elisabeth of Saxony (1610-1684). . . . On 28 December 1654, she married Gustav Adolph, the ruling Duke of Mecklenburg-Güstrow. They had eleven children but no surviving male heirs. This leads to a succession dispute that was settled by the Partition of Hamburg (1701), which redivided the interior of the Duchy of Mecklenburg among the surviving lines."
