[61693] Francis' obituary: "Thorndike - Francis A. Wren Sr. passed away Feb. 2, 2010, at the family homestead, where he was born July 18, 1938, the son of William and Mary (Crocker) Wren. Francis worked his whole life as a dedicated dairy farmer and served on many committees. He and his loving wife, Charlene (Roberts) Wren, took over the family farm in 1964 and raised their five sons together. They would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary, Feb. 4. Francis was a proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a happy, strong person, who loved life and fought many difficult health challenges the last 12 years of his life. His strong faith and love for his family carried him through until his death. Francis was an avid bird, rabbit and deer hunter. He finally won a moose hunting permit in 2009, and his sons made it possible for him to participate. Bagging a trophy bull moose was a highlight of his later life. He will be greatly missed by the love of his life, Charlene; sons and wives, Francis and Marcia Wren of Hermon, Alfred and Laurie Wren, George and Lisa Wren, Daniel and Lynn Wren, all of Thorndike, and Dana and Angel Wren of Troy; grandchildren, Jamie Lee Wren, Andrew Wren, Caitlin Wren, Alex Wren, Caleb Wren and Meagan Valles, Abigail Wren, Darren Wren, triplets: Darian, Brianna and Nathan Wren, Whitney Wren, and twins: Monica and Mariah Wren; and great-grandchildren, Zachary Nickerson, Jacie Nickerson, Ethan Wren and Cooper Wren. He is also survived by brothers, Richard Wren of Mystic Conn., and Robert Wren and his wife, Roberta, of Stockton Springs; sisters-in-law, Ethel Wren of Thorndike, Anna Roberts of Brooks and Sheila Moody and her husband, Ronald, of Standish; brothers-in-law, Edgar Skanes of Skowhegan, Robert Roberts and his wife, Patricia, of Brooks and Arthur Roberts and his wife, Cyndy, of Carrollton, Texas; many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Edward and George; sister, Rosemary Skanes; son, Dale Andrew, in 1967; and grandson, Tory Alan, in 1999."
