[51725] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 8 Octber 2022": "Bucksport - On Monday, October 3, 2022, Ronald Leroy Hutchinson, 72, beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and friend passed away in Bangor, after a brief illness surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Castine, to Archibald and Eva May (Dutcher) Hutchinson, Ron grew up in Stonington. He had a long and varied career that included fishing, proudly serving his country in Vietnam as a Marine, driving delivery vehicles and working at The Jackson Laboratory. He particularly enjoyed the last job of his working career as a school bus driver. Ron was predeceased by both parents; brothers, Raymond and Archie Jr.; sisters, Margaret, Charlotte and Alfreda May; and great-grandsons, Alex and Joey. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Gail; and children, Michelle, Scott, Keith, Jerri, Conni and Steve. He is also survived by sisters, Rose, Lila and Judy; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ron was an outstanding photographer, proudly sharing his work with everyone. His favorite subjects were sunrises and sunsets, flowers, lighthouses, and, of course, his family. He loved all types of fishing, western novels, watching old movies and he especially loved spending time with family and friends. He was an extremely loving and dedicated man who gave his all to everything he did. Everyone who knew Ron felt his big heart and giving nature. He will be missed by many and remembered by all who were touched by his gentle soul."

The O'Brien and the MacCarthy families had been warring with each other in southwestern Ireland for many years prior to the Norman invasion of Ireland. Lafeacott was apparently a persuasive woman. When her son-in-law, Maurice fitzGerald, invaded Ireland in 1171, he took by conquest part of the MacCarthy territory. Initially at least, Maurice did not seize any O'Brien territory of which I have any record. Most people named O'Brien are descended from Brian mac Cennéidigh, the Ard-Righ (High King) of Ireland usually known as Brian Bóru. Since Lafeacott O'Brien was born only about 150 years after the army of Brian Bóru defeated the Vikings at Clontarf in A.D. 1014, she was undoubtedly aware of her famous ancestor and careful about the spelling of her name. In later generations, the families of (O) Byrne, O'Broin, and Bryan sometimes changed the spelling of their name to O'Brien. The father of Alice de Montgomery was probably the same Arnulph de Montgomery who, circa A.D. 1100, founded the Benedictine priory in Monkton known as Pembroke priory, a cell of Seez."

Il épouse en premières noces Adalmode de Gévaudan dont il a Guillaume le Gros qui suit. Enfin en troisième noces il épouse Agnès de Bourgogne dont il a Guillaume VII Aigret qui suit, Guy-Geoffroy (Guillaume VIII) qui suit et Agnès l'épouse de Henri III Empereur d'Allemagne. Dés son arrivée à la tete du Comté de Poitiers, Guillaume se trouve pris dans le conflit entre les Comtes de Blois et d'Anjou. En 996 ce dernier Foulques Nerra se trouve en situation difficile et il fait appel à Aldebert de Périgord évoqué ci dessus. Il est devenu Comte de Périgord et s'est remarié à Adalmode de Gévaudan la fille d'Adélaide d'Anjou (tante du Comte d'Anjou Foulques Nerra). Aldebert traverse le Poitou et prend Tours pour le Comte d'Anjou et retraverse à nouveau le Poitou impunément. Après son retour en Périgord il se soulève contre le Comte Guillaume et fait le siège de la forteresse de Gencay, il y est grièvement blessé et meurt peu de temps après à Charroux qui est alors la capitale de La Marche. Guillaume épouse alors Adalmode, la veuve du Comte de Périgord. Il accorde le Périgord à Boson de la Marche et s'accomode avec Eudes de Déols. Il se montre reconnaissant envers Guillaume II Taillefer Comte d'Angouleme qui l'a aidé lors de son accession au pouvoir, il lui donne la tutelle des Vicomtés de Rochechouart, Melle, Aulnay ainsi que celle des Seigneuries de Chabanais, Confolens et Ruffec et enfin il lui apporte son aide pour se marier avec Gerberge d'Anjou, la soeur de Foulques III Nerra. Tous ces évènements contribuent à pacifier le Duché d'Aquitaine. Guillaume donne d'ailleurs une nouvelle signification à ce titre, au delà de la fonction militaire, le Duc d'Aquitaine devient, avec lui, progressivement un chef d'état. Guillaume parvient à gerer avec beaucoup de duplicité le conflit entre les puissants Sires de Lusignan et les Vicomtes de Thouars. Le Vicomte Savary III de Thouars s'était emparé d'un domaine appartenant aux Lusignan. Guillaume promet à Hugues le Brun Sire de Lusignan de le lui rendre à la mort de Savary qui a lieu en 1003, mais en pratique il l'attribue au successeur et frère de Savary, Raoul. Pourtant les deux ennemis arrivent à s'entendre, Hugues doit épouser la fille de Raoul. Mais Guillaume fait échouer ce mariage en proposant à Hugues de Lusignan la veuve de Joscelin I de Parthenay (qui n'avait laissé qu'un fils en bas age). Une fois Hugues d'accord, le duc s'arrange alors pour que ce mariage échoue lui aussi et provoque la guerre entre le Vicomte de Thouars d'une part et le Sire de Lusignan et le Duc lui meme d'autre part. C'est pendant cette guerre que meurt le Vicomte Raoul vers l'année 1014. Dans une autre affaire concernant Civray et mettant en jeu le Comte Bernard de la Marche, Hugues IV de Lusignan et Aimery I de Rancon, Guillaume manifesta encore beaucoup de duplicité, toujours aux dépens de Hugues et au bénéfice de Aimery de Rancon et de Bernard de la Marche cette fois. Hugues se facha et réagit violemment en s'emparant du chateau de Chizé, Guillaume fut obligé de traiter et cèda finalement à Hugues de Lusignan des domaines à Parthenay. C'est vers 1006 qu'étant devenue veuf d'Adalmode, Guillaume se remarie avec Brisque soeur de Sanche-Guillaume Duc de Gascogne. Plus tard, à la mort de Sanche, qui n'avait pas d'héritier direct, le Duché de Gascogne sera réuni au Duché d'Aquitaine. Dans ces memes années les Normands font de nouvelles incursions dévastatrices en Poitou, ce furent les dernières. Pourtant le Duc Guillaume entreprend de renforcer la défense de la cote Atlantique en donnant la place de Talmond et le sud du pays d'Herbauges à une de ses fidèles Guillaume le Chauve (sans doute un batard de Guillaume Fier à Bras, donc demi frère du Duc). Guillaume le Chauve épousa Ameline la fille du Sire de Parthenay qui lui attribua des domaines permettant ainsi de constituer la nouvelle Seigneurie de Talmond, en meme temps il construisait une forteresse à la Roche sur Yon, dans l'arrière pays. En 1019 Guillaume le Grand est veuf pour la seconde fois, il épouse alors Agnès fille de Otte Guillaume Comte de Bourgogne et d'Ermentrude petite fille du Roi de France Louis IV d'Outremer. Agnès est également la petite fille de l'ancien Roi Adalbert d'Italie. A cette époque Poitiers est en partie détruite par un incendie et Guillaume se consacre à la reconstruction de la ville. Il parvient à faire introniser le nouvel Eveque de Limoges, Geraud fils du Vicomte Guy de Limoges, par l'Archeveque de Bordeaux aux dépens du droit de l'Archeveque de Bourges, ce poste étant alors vacant. A la mort de Geraud, en 1022, Guillaume essaie de pérenniser ce type d'intronisation. Aussitot il se retrouve en conflit avec le nouvel Archeveque de Bourges et avec Robert II, le Roi de France qui a la tutelle du siège de Bourges. L'intervention de l'Eveque Fulbert de Chartres permet à Guillaume de faire amende honorable et de préserver l'attribution de Limoges à l'Eveque Jourdain. En 1024 l'Empereur d'Allemagne Henri II décede, les Italiens profitent de la situation pour essayer de se rendre indépendants et proposent la couronne d'Italie au Roi de France Robert. Celui-ci se récuse et les Italiens se tournent alors vers Guillaume de Poitiers. Après avoir hésité et même fait un voyage en Italie Guillaume renonce à son tour ne voulant pas se trouver en conflit avec le nouvel Empereur d'Allemagne. L'affaire trouvera son épilogue plus tard avec le mariage de la fille de Guillaume, Agnès, avec l'Empereur d'Allemagne Henri III. Guillaume fut un prince profondément religieux qui est allé en pélerinage à Rome et à St Jacques de Compostelle à plusieurs reprises. Pour autant il reste tolérant vis à vis de l'hérésie Manichéenne et des Juifs. Il a un role de régulateur et de médiateur dans les différents conflits entre hommes d'église de son Duché. Il en est ainsi en particulier dans les Abbayes de Saint Cyprien de Poitiers, de Saint Maixent, dans l'Eveché de Limoges et au Concile de Charroux. Il est ami avec Fulbert de Chartres. She was born July 25 1916, at Milbridge, the daughter of Clifford D. and Flora Edna (Beal) Strout. She was a graduate of Milbridge High School, Class of 1936, and had been employed at several local factories and at Marshall Manor Boarding Home in Machias for a number of years. Rosalee was a devout member and lay preacher at the Jacksonville United Methodist Church and was a faithful member of the Jacksonville Grange and a Seventh Degree member of the National Grange. She was predeceased by her parents. Surviving are her loving husband of 36 years, Lewis J. Lund Jr. of Jacksonville; one son, Emery D. Strout and his wife, Sharon, of Machiasport; one daughter, Pamela (Strout) Davis and her husband, Daniel, of Beals; two grandsons, Clifford A. Strout and Douglas E. Strout, both of Machiasport; a very special 'sister', Adelaide Corey of Kennebunkport; one nephew, Michael W. Strout and his wife, Jenny, of Milbridge; several cousins and many dear friends."
