[28422] "The History of Martha's Vineyard...," Charles E. Banks (Edgartown, MA: Dukes Co. Historical Society, 1966), Vol. 1, pp. 249-254, and Vol. 3, p. 305 (which lists his children). Experience was a well-known missionary to the Native Americans. Banks, op. cit., Vol. 3, pp. 309ff. details the life and ministry of his clergyman son, Jonathan Mayhew (b. 8 Oct 1720), as does Lawrence Weber in "Culture, Art & Conflict: The Revolutionary Theology of Jonathan Mayhew," in "Patriots of the American Revolution" magazine [ISSN 1941-5656], Vol. 2, #3, pp. 46-51.
[45589] "Shamokin News-Dispatch [Shamokin, Pennsylvania]," 24 March 1947, p. 2: "William J. Yasalonis, 65, of 1435 Pulaski Avenue, retired miner and former hotel proprietor, died yesterday morning in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Dutcavich, 205 East Commerce Street. He was in ill health during a period of many months. Mr. Yasalonis was born in Lithuania. He came to the United States in 1904. Upon locating in Shamokin he secured work as a miner at the Henry Clay Colliery and later worked at the Irish Brothers Colliery, but relinquished his mining occupation to enter the hotel business. Mr. Yasalonis conducted hotels on Chemung Street and later on Pulaski Avenue. Twenty-five years ago he disposed of the business and purchased a farm at Union Corners, near Elysburg. During the past two years he made his home with his son-in-law and daughter. Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Catherine Yaskiewicz, to whom he was married in 1907, and five children, George and John, both of Shamokin; Mrs. Stanley Osmanski, Mrs. Frank Knovich and Mrs. John Dutcavich, Shamokin. One step-sister, Mrs. Agnes Kane, Lakewood, Ohio, survives, also. Mr. Yasalonis was a member of St. Michael Church, Shamokin, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Danville, and the Lithuanian Club, Mount Carmel."
