[32943] "Conrad was born in the year that we declared our independance. He was only ten years old when his family migrated to the Yourk and Adams County areas of Pa. He was on his own in Berwick Township where he paid taxes in 1790. He married Catherine Norbeck, whose family had also migrated to the area. They moved around quite frequently, 1801 he was in Mt. Pleasant Twp, 1805 back in Berwick, 1813 in Straban, then from 1825 to 1827, in Cumberland Twp. His brother Henry sued him for money that he owed in 1827. He was later released from the debt when Henry died. Conrad started the migration west. He moved from Adams County to Franklin County around 1827 to 1830. He resided in Hamilton Twp first. His son Joseph and grandson William attended the Lauden School in Hamilton Twp. in 1830, moving on tp Fannett Twp and acquired 389 acres in 1835. This location became known as the Eckenrode Knob. This is a mountainous area and they had to hike over a peak to get to church. There is an annual Eckenrode gathering there every August. Conrad died at the age of 73 with a large estate to settle." - "Eckenrode Family Tree" in Ancestry.com in 2012.

[52098] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 18 June 2019": "Franklin - Warren Perry 'Pard' Higgins, 67, died unexpectedly in a vehicle accident on June 11, 2019. He was born on July 6, 1951, in Bar Harbor to Warren H. Higgins and Ruby A. Hodgdon. As a child he was adopted by Bessie Morris and William Junior 'June' Morris. Pard grew up on Frenchboro, which is where his love of the ocean began. He did it all: scalloping, lobstering and everything in between. He was a very hard working man who could do anything he put his mind to. This work ethic and mindset was instilled in his children. Pard was a caring, compassionate man who would help anyone in need. He always had a way of making anyone feel special and loved. Pard was a family man who loved his children and grandsons more than anything. Always there to lend a hand, he was the kind of father that gave his kids the confidence to do anything in the world. Pard was also involved in the local country music scene. When he was young he would stand on the corner and sing Elvis songs to all who would listen. He had a lifelong passion for music and donated much of his time to help those in need. Pard is survived by fiancée Kimberly Murphy of Bar Harbor, children Warren 'Pard' Higgins II and partner JennyJo Soucy, Luke Higgins and wife, Christie, Katie Higgins and partner Blake Parsons, siblings Sandi Lunt and Aaron Higgins. He was especially proud to be 'GrandPard' to his grandsons Warren and Mason."
