[85] Kathleen's full maiden name is Ruth Kathleen Paullin, but she did not use the first given name. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and the Kona Club in college. Her obituary 27 Oct 2011 in the Akron Beacon Journal: "She earned the degree of Bachelor of Science in Music Education in 1951 from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio. She taught music in Barberton, Ohio, Paso Robles, Calif., West Jefferson, Ohio, Akron, Ohio, and most recently as choral director at Copley Junior High School, Ohio. Teaching at Copley from 1970 until she retired in 1987, she developed a model junior high choral program. Her 120 voice Copley mixed Choirs and Men and Women's Glee Clubs sang in many parts of the country and she was in great demand as a clinician and advisor in the field of the changing voice. From 1951 to 1966, she served as the choir director at her home church, The United Methodist Church in Doylestown, Ohio. She was a member of Music Educators National Conference (MENC) and Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) serving as an adjudicator for Solo and Ensemble, and Large Group competitions at both the Junior and Senior High levels. She was responsible for the first OMEA Recommended List for Junior High Vocal competitions, the gist of which is still used. In addition to judging these contests, she participated in them with her choral groups, ensembles, and individual students achieving consistent Superior (1) ratings. Most of her life she had a piano studio in her home with 15 to 25 students. Her favorite hobby was knitting afghans and she was especially fond of being around her family and her grandchildren, watching them grow and mature." Her grandson, the Rev. Dr. Michael Lehman, conducted her funeral service in the Doylestown United Methodist Church 30 Oct 2011.

[603] As only heir of Lionel, Duke of Clarence, and Elizabeth, heir of William de Burgh, Philippa brought to Edmund in their marriage key honors and estates. Thus Edmund "not only became the representative of one of the chief Anglo-Norman lordships in Ireland in right of his wife Philippa, but the latter, on the death of her father shortly after her marriage, stood next in succession to the crown after the Black prince and his sickly son, afterwards King Richard II. This marriage had, therefore, far-reaching consequences in the history of England, giving rise to the claim of the house of York to the crown of England, contested in the Wars of the Roses." - Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1956 Ed., 14:865.
