Ray m. (2) 3 Nov 1934 in Castine, ME to Florence N. Bowden. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 30 September 1961, p. 17: "Castine - Ray Harland Wardwell, 84, died in a Bangor hospital Friday following a brief illness. He was born at Penobscot February 21, 1877, the son of Fred and Emma (Perkins) Wardwell. Mr. Wardwell was a member of Castine Grange and the Castine Federated Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Florence Wardwell of Castine; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Marckoon of Castine, Miss Jeanne Wardwell of Castine and Mrs. Viva Barton of Camden; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Olive Austin of Penobscot; one step-son, Alvin Heath of Penobscot; one brother, Gustine Wardwell of Castine; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bowden of Stockton and Mrs. Emma Preble of South Weymouth, Mass.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins."
