[44271] Ray Kohler' files in "Kohler Klan and Kissin Kin" at https://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com offers: "The council of the Lutheran church of Port Royal noted the passing of Jesse Saylor by adopting the following tribute: Elder Jesse Saylor, after a long and painful sickness, has been called to his final rest. The place in social and Christian circles that he so beautifully adorned, will be difficult to fill. As we bow in humble submission to the will of our Heavenly Father, we recognize the solemn truth, 'In the midst of life we are in death.' In looking back over his Christian career, estending over a period of more than half a century, we find great reason for thankfulness that he was permitted to live and labor so logn and successfully for the cause of our Lord and Master. We bear unqualified testimony to the earnest and cheerful faithfulness with which he fulfilled his duty to the church and the world as a memeber of the countil of this church." He was a Lutheran Elder for 25 years.
[45936] James arrived in New York aboard the USS Constellation 12 March 1853. "Wilkes-Barre Times Leader, The Evening News [Wilkes-Barre, PA], 26 February 1929," p. 11: "James A. Surviving are the following children: Charles F. Stretch, of Forty Fort; Mrs. Albert DuBosq, Downlngton; Mrs. W. A. Troutman, Narberth. The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon, with interment in the Lutheran cemetery at Ardmore."
