He worked several years in the hotel management business. William is survived by his sister Mary Jane and her husband Terrance Bragan; a nephew, Scott MacDonald and a niece Lisa and husband James Hinds and children Courtney and Ashleigh. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Brown and his parents."

She was born Nov. 9, 1916, at Whiting, the daughter of Ray S. and Florence (Lund) Foster. Jeane and her husband, 'Bill' owned and operated the Rutherford Jewelry Store in Calais for many years before retiring in 1983. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Calais and the Women's Association of the church. She was an avid crafts person and knitter and was well-known for the teddy bears she made. Jeane was predeceased by her husband, J. William 'Bill' Rutherford in 1986. Survivors include one daughter, Beverly J. Linnane and her husband, Bill of Westborough, Mass; one son, James F. Rutherford and his wife, Leslie of Kennebunkport; one brother, Robert H. Foster and his wife, Carolyn of Machias; seven grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren; many nieces and nephews."
