He was born at Bar Harbor June 7, 1898, the son of Hollis M, Sr, and Gertrude (West) Linscott, He was a member and a past deacon of the Eden Baptist Church. He was retired from the Town of Bar Harbor where he worked in construction and also worked for the Les Hamor Construction Company of Bar Harbor. 'June' enjoyed being active all of his life and particularly enjoyed gardening with his loving wife of 71 years, Annie (Camber), and he could often be found digging clams at Hadley Point. He was predeceased by one son, Russell, in 1987, and by four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Annie; one son, Paul Linscott of Ellsworth; one daughter, Shirley Garceau of Brewer; one daughter-in-law, Charlotte Linscott of Bar Harbor; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary and Than Fickett of Milbridge, and Kathlyn Bridges of Hancock; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Hazel Linscott of Ellsworth; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins."

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, by the Rev. Gary Nims of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel.Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Willey of Indianapolis; a son, Douglas of Cedar Rapids; and a half brother, Harold Sprague of Cherryfield, Maine.Also surviving are a grandson, Rodney Willey; and three great-grandsons, Maxwell, Tayler and Alek.Baxter was born Dec. 6, 1916, in Steuben, Maine, to Holmes and Vivian O'Brien Willey, and married Almeda Sawyer on Dec. 30, 1939, in Old Town, Maine. She died Sept. 19, 1990. Baxter was a technical operations manager for Penick & Ford, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church."
