[1864] Dagobert I was Merovingian King of Austrasia, 622-628, and sole King of France, 628-639. He published a code of laws and is considered the greatest of the Merovingian House. He was thrice married. He founded the renouned Abbey of Saint Denis. About 630 he married Ragnetrude__________. Fr. Funck-Brentano ("A History of Gaul", p. 274) opines "The reign of Dagobert is the most brilliant period in the monarchy of the fifth and sixth centuries. He may be regarded as the Louis XIV of the Merovingians." http://www.friesian.com/francia.htm#clovis reports that Dagobert I also had Clovis II, King of Neustria and Burgundy (638-657). http://www.aritek.com/hartgen/htm/of-the-west-franks.htm states that he is son of Clothaire's wife Haldetrude de Burgundy (not verified). http://www.art-science.com/Ken/Genealogy/PD/ch47_Girls.html offers: "Dagobert I was the child of Bertrude (590 - 618), daughter of Ricomer de Bourgogne, Clothaires second wife, the first, Altrude or Ragentrude, had died in 600, possibly in childbirth. A much stronger character than his father, he patronised the arts & founded the abbey of Saint Denis, where he died in 639. In 631 he sent an army to help the Visigothic usurper in Spain. The royal line from Dagobert did not at first appear to be Delaforce ancestral but it did impinge on our history, see Eudes in the next chapter. However, his son Clovis II was of the line of Toulouse & so was Dagobert's unnamed daughter's family. Dagobert was a hard man & his equally tough son Clovis II, who inherited Neustria & Burgundy, married Balthilde, an English slave girl but of aristocratic family, bought by Grimoald, the Palace Mayor from pirates for the purpose. Pepin the Short in 751. Dagobert's other son Sigibert, inherited the Kingdom of Austrrasia & is not a Delaforce but his son, Dagobert II, had a legendary life until his murder. His adventures, being carried off to Ireland etc, are well, if not necessarily accurately, documented but the Catholic Church had tried to remove him from the record, as he seems to have been a sort of atheist." Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dagobert_I.
[30016] Theobald m. Anna Maria Meer (b. 1720in Berks Co.,PA). Theobald is son of John Carl (b.. 1690 in Nassau, Saarbruecken, Germany) and Anna Maria Weiss (b.1687, m. 6 Sept 1708 in Germany) - according to the unverified file in Ancestry.com.

[19495] He expelled the Danes from England in 954. He acceeded on 16 August 946 at Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. His reign was notable because of the final subjugation of Northumbria. http://www.san.beck.org/AB17-FeudalEurope.html offers: "Since Edmund's two sons were too young, he was succeeded by his brother Eadred, who was also accepted as king of Northumbria until Norway's fleeing king Erik Bloodaxe arrived there. Eadred invaded with his army and though they were defeated at first, they forced the Northumbrians to abandon Erik lest their country be destroyed. In 949 Olaf Sihtricson came back from Dublin and was accepted by the Northumbrians as king until Erik returned to drive out Olaf in 952. Erik Bloodaxe ruled in York for two years but then was expelled by the Northumbrians in 954, and Eadred took over Northumbria again. Eadred died in the next year, leaving a large sum of money to be used to buy peace from pagan armies." Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eadred_of_England.
[6235] http://www.theroyfamily.com/gen/roy/p305.htm states he is Artaud IV, Count of Lyon and Forez, m. Raimonde. Is he the "Count Artald, who founded a new line of counts in the Lyonnais at the end of the tenth century see E. Fournial, "Recherches sur les comtes de Lyon du IXe et Xe siècles" in Le Moyen Age, LVIII (1952), 231-249. See a charter of 992 which probably refers to Count Artald in Cart. de Savigny, no. 53. For a reference to Count Gerald, who probably succeeded him, note a charter of 1017 in ibid., no. 602." (quoted from http://libro.uca.edu/lewis/sfc17.htm#N_15_)
