[60806] Robert's obituary: "Orland - My love Bob passed away suddenly at our Orland home on July 14th 2025he was 64 years old. This day was also his mother's and his youngest granddaughter's birthday. Bob was the first born son to Robert E. Harriman of Portland and Margaret G. Soper of Bucksport while in Farmington, Maine on May 27, 1961. Bob loved and valued all of his family and friends. He went to the Orland Consolidated School and graduated from the Bucksport High School in the class of 1979. Music and theater were his special interests while he was in school. His Dad was the director of plays in the High School and when he needed younger children for the plays he would have his son come and play the part. Bob loved acting and enjoyed it right up through his High School years. He went into the Air Force after his graduation. After passing his basic training he got stationed at the Las Vegas Air Force base. Bob met a lot of friends while out there. He returned home to Orland after his time in the airforce was done. I found the love of my life (even though I didn't know it yet but he always knew I was his) when Bob and I went on our first date in May of 1984 and we were married on December 14th 1984. He was a wonderful loving father to our 2 sons Ted Soper and Estin Robert. They were his world and he did many things with them and for them. He also was lucky to have welcomed his 2 beautiful granddaughters Xyerra W. and Brookelin A. into our family. They were a constant source of pride and he loved them with his whole heart. Bob started his association with the Orland Fire Department when he was a young boy. He valued helping others. When he was in the airforce he worked on being a fire fighter on base. When he returned home he continued being an Orland Fire Fighter. He rose through the ranks of being an officer all the way to Assist. Chief and stepped up to acting Chief when there was a need. He gave his town and Fire Department 50 years of service. He also loved making music and could play just about any instrument. He had so many different friends he would jam with but his favorite band was Badge. He loved all of the members of the group. He especially loved playing drums alongside his cousin David Soper which we would jokingly call the dualling drums. He also loved to perform with Richard Crampton at the REACH School. He looked forward to those days. To him it didn't matter if it was just playing for the students or helping out with a fundraiser for the school. He believed in what Crampton and Rob along with other helpers were doing to help educate the students. To him Crampton was such a wonderful treasure and had a gift for teaching. Bob got involved with Boy Scout Troop 102 Orland to help both of our boys to become Eagle Scouts. He enjoyed all the people involved with Scouting and going on the campouts and outings. He would join in anything to help our boys and the kids of town. He belonged to the Orland P.T.O., Volunteered to do Rec programs and helped out in the School for whatever there was a need for. He is survived by his wife of 40 years BeLinda J., their sons Ted his girls Xyerra & Brookelin,The girls mom Holly of Hancock, Estin and his wife Jennifer of Orland, sister (Catherine) Kate and her husband Preston Day of Orland, and brother Sean and his wife Tiffany Harriman of Penobscot. Bob was incredibly proud of his brother and sister and their spouses; he loved them so very much. In- laws that felt as his own are Sister Brenda and husband Arlen Henderson, brothers Brian and wife Jody Braley, and Dennis Braley. He had many special Nieces and Nephews. Loving each one in their own way. Many cousins and special friends that are more like family. Bob leaves behind Family, Friends, and a lot of Brothers and Sisters in the Fire Service. He was predeceased by his Grand Parents Harriman and Soper of which Norman (Ted) Soper was his idol, Parents Bob and Margaret, a special little one, Relatives, Friends, Jeff Newbegin as he liked to say his brother from another mother and In laws Bob and Avis Braley."

[46294] "The Call [Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania], 8 February 1918," p. 6: "Charles F. Hepler, the proprietor of the North Ward hotel, died at his home at an early hour Sunday morning, following an illness of the last six months. Deceased was in the 51st year of his age. He located in Cressona a little over three years ago, since which time he conducted the above-named hostelry on Sillyman street. He was the father of Helen Hepler, who, with Clayton Mengle, of Sch. Haven, disappeared mysteriously two years ago and whose bodies were found several months afterwards in the river at Schuylkill Haven. Surviving are his wife, one son and three daughters, namely, Harry, of Spring Glen; Mrs. Harry Dieter, of Lebanon; Mrs. Ralph Buffington, of Elizabethville and Mrs. Roy Gilbert of Cressona. Funeral services were conducted over the remains at the Hepler residence on Tuesday evening by Rev. L. R. Kramer. The original plans were to take the remains to Sacramento for burial on Wednesday morning, but owing to there being no train service out of Cressona until a late hour on that day, because of the severe weather, the funeral had to be postponed until Thursday morning."
